Psychology Conversation Café

Hello!

One of my pet peeves is people who are late. This really annoys me because I am always on
time.

But there was actually one time when this pet peeve helped me. Tell me tell you a story about
what happened to me a few years ago.

My friend and I decided to meet each other at a café at 5 pm. I arrived a few minutes early and
sat down.

Ten minutes past, then twenty, while I was waiting, I texted my friend. She did not text me back.

I ordered a coffee, and as soon as my coffee arrived, I texted her again.

At first I was feeling fine, then I began to get a little angry.

The waitress came over and asked me if I wanted something more. I ordered a piece of cake.

While I was eating the piece of cake, I saw this woman and she was looking at me.

I look at her and said, “Sarah!” She said, “Alissa!” It was my good friend from high school.

She came to sit with me, and we started to talk. We were talking for about an hour when
suddenly my other friend appeared.

“I’m so sorry.” she said, “Have you waited a long time?” Now normally, as I said, people who
arrive late make me very angry, especially after an hour.

But this time I laughed and said, “No. I’ve had a great time waiting for you. Though, could you
please stop coming so late in the future. But hey, meet my old friend from high school.”
