Speaking Part 3

Units 1- 4  for developing ideas


- Speak in around 3 – 4 minutes (no time to prepare)
- You use the first sentence as the topic sentence
- Use some linking devices: first, second, moreover, for example, let’s me explain…
- Mention 4 main points with forms of sentences
- Listeners need to know when you change the main point
- For each main point  say 2 – 3 sentences with examples or explanation.
Topic sentence  Introduce 4 main points (if you do not have a lot of ideas, we should introduce
4 main points at the beginning), list them  (1),… (2),… (3),… (4)…  finalizing sentences
(talk about what remains in your mind about the topic, your feelings, your conclusions…
(Example, it is very important to notice the loss of the ability to communicate. People or me, I
will be very annoyed.)
For each main point, introduce the first one with the linking device (to let people know that we
are talking about something. It could be any node in the network as if it satisfies the
understanding or the ease of following for the listeners. 2 – 4 sentences  enough
