 Lateral - An additional pipeline in plumbing.

A common sewer in the sewerage system to which


no additional branch sewers are attached. Sewage from building sewer service connections is
the sole source it accepts.

 Latrine - a water closet that has a continuous trough for holding liquids water. A minimum of two

system which receives the wastes, vent or back vents, from fixture outlet or traps, direct or
through branch pipes.

 Main Sewer – a principal sewer directly controlled by authority to which all abutters have equal
rights of connections.
 Manhole - a large opening in a sewer line or part of a plumbing system constructed with
sufficient size for a man to gain access therein for maintenance purposes and facility for changes
of line and/or grade of pipeline.

 Meter – is a plumbing device used to measure the amount od water used in a house
