APPLICATION FOR HOMESTAY PLACEMENT – LETTER

My name is Lucas Gil Aparicio. I am almost 14 years old and live in a small town called
Gran Alacant, Alicante region within Valencia, Spain. It is in a mix of sea and
mountains, very close to a natural park, in a big neighborhood of low-rise houses
where everyone knows everyone else.

I think I am a good person and kind to people. I like soccer, I am a Barça fan, and I
play in a soccer Team in the regular league. I also like to read, play videogames and
hang out with friends. I have been in 4 countries outside Spain: France, England,
Switzerland and Finland, I really like to travel. In the future I want to become a pilot,
so deepening oral English language learning and being in an international environment
is a priority.

I have chosen Nanaimo because it is a great place with kind people, nature and a
good climate. My expectations to live in Nanaimo are to know new cultures, feel the
nature, learn more English and grow psychologically.

About my family in Spain, they are a kind people who always help you if you have
problems and they always want the best for me. I live with my mom and dad, my sister
and my dog, a small cotton ball called Sammy.

About the family I would like to live with, if possible, I prefer to stay in the city rather
than a rural place, and also prefer a family with a child who is my age or similar. It
would be perfect if there is a guy of my age who is also on exchange, but who does
not speak Spanish.

In every case, I only want a family who is kind and can help me with all my needs to
make my Canadian adventure a success. I will help anyone in the family in any way I
can, and I believe that I will not be a burden, I am responsible and can generally cope
with anything.
