E-commerce is the activity of buying or selling of on online services products or over the
Internet.
Modern electronic commerce typically uses the World Wide Web for at least one part
transaction's life cycle although it may also use other technologies such as e-mail.
E-commerce is sup by electronic business. E-commerce businesses may also employ some or all
of the followings:
 Online shopping for retail sales direct to consumers via Web sites and mobile and
conversational commerce via live chat, chatbots, and voice assistants
 Providing or participating in online marketplaces, which process third-party business
consumer or consumer-to-consumer sales

Ecommerce, also known as electronic commerce or internet commerce, refers to the buying and
selling of goods or services using the internet, and the transfer of money and data to execute
transactions. Ecommerce is often used to refer to the sale of physical products online, but also
describe any kind of commercial transaction that is facilitated through the internet. Whereas E-
business refers to all aspects of operating an online business, ecommerce specifically to the
transaction of goods and services.

When a business sells a good or service to an individual consumer.
2. Business to Business (B2B):
When a business sells a good or service to another business

When a consumer sells a good or service to another consumer

When a consumer sells their own products or services to a business or organization
5. Business to Government (B2G)
This type of E-Commerce is used by the government departments to directly reach to the
citizens by setting up the websites. These websites have government policies, rules and
regulations related to the respective departments. Any citizen may interact with these
websites to know the various details.

This model covers an electronic exchange of any information between business and the
government. Government Procurement, electronic procurement marketplaces, electronic
auctions etc. comes under this model.
7. Government to Consumer (G2C)
This type E-Commerce activity is performed between the government and its citizens or
consumers, including paying taxes, registering vehicles and providing information and
services.
