Report on World Braille Day Celebration


Date: 4h January 2023
Objective:
* To raise awareness of the braille language,
* An attempt to bridge the gap among normal and differently-abled individuals.
* To unlocks opportunities for persons with disabilities to gain literacy skills and education, compete in labour
markets and contribute to society on an equal basis with others.

World Braille Day is celebrated every year on January 4 to raise awareness of the importance of Braille as a means of
communication for blind and partially sighted people, and helps advocate for their equal rights and opportunities.
The day was recognized by the United Nations and marks the birth anniversary of Louis Braille. F.Y.B.Ed. Students of
Gurukrupa college Visited NAB-IDBI polytechnic for the blind. How they work. How they become self-development,
how earn, how they get trained to skilled or operate machine all such great information about people and their work
got from factory.
About NAB-IDBI polytechnic, Ambernath.
this association for blind is voluntary organization working for the welfare of the blind since 1952.in 1985, with the
financial assistance from the industrial development Bank of India. The NBI has established a polytechnic for the
blind at ambernath. This polytechnic was inaugurated by the then prime minister of India. Late Shri Rajiv Gandhi. The
polytechnic with a capacity of 100 training, aim to train the visual handicapped youth on sophisticated machinery
based on specially drafting teaching trade.so far it has trained a sizeable number of candidates from all over India.
Some of them have been successfully employees in factories and workshops.
The center proposed to provide one year appreciate to the blind trainees who passed out from the polytechnic on
completion of a two-year courses General machine operator, this train them to become skilled workers and to be
adapted to regular work Shop environment. Visually handicapped persons are also trained to operate plastic molding
machine, assembly solar batteries and make office file. The center will also provide vocation training and
development 20 visually handicapped persons per year in entrepreneurship development program.
The factories manager guided and gave information about all the machine and achievement. We also communicated
with workers and got experienced about their life It was nice experience to visit such factory, impressed with
knowledge of people and their emotion. After visiting , went back to college and discuss teachers and friends and
family.
