lot for their children. God has gifted them to care for, protect, love and teach their children in the ways of God.
Mothers have a great and indispensable role in the history of humankind.

WHO IS MARY?
The Meaning of the name of Mary:
In Hebrew: Miryam means the Exalted One;
In Greek: Maria, Mariam can mean “lady”,“beautiful”, or “well-beloved”
In Latin: Mar means sea (song: star of the sea)
In Typology:
Eva inverted into Ave:
Mary is the 2nd Eve as Jesus is the 2nd Adam;
the tree in the Garden caused the fall of humanity;
the tree in Calvary caused the salvation of allhumanity.

Catholic Tradition includes the following teachings:

1. Mary’s Immaculate Conception- she was born withoutoriginal sin, and was therefore sinless throughout her
life.
2. Mary received almost nightly visits by angels as a templechild.
3. Mary’s Perpetual Virginity- had no children before Jesus (aBiblical teaching) or after Him (unbiblical).
4. Mary’s Physical Ascension Into Heaven- because of hersinlessness, Mary never experienced a physical death –
theresult of sin. Instead, she was raised bodily into thepresence of Christ.
5. Mary’s Role as Co-redemptrix and Mediatrix of AllGraces: holds that the obedience and sufferings of Mary
were essential to secure the full redemption bought byChrist.
