1 Download Guide
This document is intended for merchants (owners of online shops with the intention to integrate
iDEAL) and for developers responsible for the actual integration of iDEAL. This document contains
an overview of available iDEAL documentation. Also the targeted audience of each document is
specified. Based on this information merchants can decide which documents are relevant to their
situation.

1.1 iDEAL General – Introduction and procedure

This document describes what iDEAL is, how it works, and how the registration procedure is done.
This document is an introduction for all employees involved with the integration of iDEAL. This
document is available in Dutch and English.

1.2 iDEAL Merchant Integration Guide

The iDEAL Merchant Integration Guide is a general introduction into the technical aspects
applicable to the integration of iDEAL in your online shop. Employees of merchants implementing
iDEAL Advanced are advised to read this document prior to the documents intended for a specific
programming environment. This document is available in Dutch and English.

1.3 iDEAL Advanced documents

The iDEAL Advanced documentation is available for 3 programming environments:
• PHP
• Java
• .NET
For each environment an integration manual is available both in Dutch and English. This manual
describes all steps needed to integrate iDEAL Advanced in an online shop. Additionally for each
programming language integration code (or plugin) is available to simplify the integration in your
online shop. The third component available for each of the above programming languages is the
example code, illustrating how the integration code shall be used.
When using iDEAL Advanced the ING iDEAL acquiring signing certificate (a .cer file) is needed. How this
certificate should be used is explained in the manual specific to the programming environment used.
