Comparative
We use the comparative to compare the difference between 2
people/things/animals

The dog is bigger than


the cat
Comparative
To make a comparative you must change the adjective and add than to the
comparative form
example:

Comparative Rules
With one syllable adjective, we add -er
than FAST - FASTER THAN
With one and two syllable adjective, that
end with y, we remove the y and add -ier HAPPY - HAPPIER THAN
than
With adjectives that end with a single
vowel followed by a single consonant, the BIG - BIGGER THAN
consonant is doubled and add -er than
With three syllable adjectives we BEAUTIFUL - MORE
add more before the adjective and
than, after the adjective BEAUTIFUL THAN
Irregular adjectives
Irregular adjectives don't follow these rules. So, you must memorize them. :(
