Materials Needed:
Yarn: Worsted Weight #4, approximately 50g of main color, 25-50g of accent colors
Color A: Mint, Color B: Purple, Color C: Pink, Color D: Variegated
Hook Size: D Hook or 3.25 mm
15 mm safety eyes(purchased from @idaherter), 14 mm oval

Scissors, sewing needle, stitch marker, fiberfill stuffing
Black embroidery thread, white embroidery thread, pipe cleaner(optional)
Abbreviations:
mr= magic ring- crochet single crochet stitches in to the
adjustable loop BLO= back loops only
ch= chain stitch F/O= Fasten off
sc= single crochet stitch inc3= 3 sc in the same stitch
sl= slip stitch
dc= double crochet stitch
inc= increase- make two single crochet stitches in the same stitch
dec=decrease- crochet two stitches together using the decrease method
(4 sc, inc) x 6= repeat the pattern between parentheses 6 times
Notes:
• Do not join rounds unless stated, work in a continuous spiral
• Use a stitch marker to mark the beginning of each round
• All stitches are worked in both loops unless stated otherwise in the pattern
Bow:
With Color C:
1. Make a magic ring and ch 4
2. Into the magic ring: make 3 tr, ch 4, sl st, ch 4, 3 tr, ch 4, sl st
F/O and leave an extra long tail for sewing
Antennaes(Make 2):
Starting with Color B:
Heart Humps(Make 2):
1. Make 6 sc into a magic ring= 6
2. (sc, inc) x 3= 9
3. sc in each st around
Do not F/O the 2nd hump!
4. Work a single crochet in the 2nd hump to connect the 1st hump and 2nd hump together.
Work 8 more sc around, work 9 sc in the next hump= 18
5. sc in each st around
6. (4 sc, dec) x 3= 15
7. (3 sc, dec) x 3= 12
8. (2 sc, dec) x 3= 9
9. (sc, dec) x 3= 6
Stop stuffing
Change to Color A:
10-13. sc in each st around
F/O and leave a long tail for sewing
Bow:
1. Pin the bow onto the front of the body.
2. Sew the bow onto the neck.
Mouth:
1. Thread your needle with a long strand of black thread. Insert the needle into a spot
on the side of the head and bring the needle up to a hole on the side of the face.
2. Embroider a smile.
3. Weave in the ends.
You can use different eye and nose sizes. You might have to adjust the placements if you
change the sizes.
You can use different hook sizes and weights of yarn. It will just change the size of your
butterfly and you might need to adjust eye and nose placement.
How you stuff matters! The type of stuffing you use, how you stuff, all this matters on how your
butterfly turns out. I prefer Polyfil stuffing but you can use other types.
If you can not find the oval noses, triangle noses work great! They make it so cute! You can
embroider the nose as well! The first picture is of an embroidered nose with purple yarn. The
2nd picture nose is an 18 mm nose. This picture was from a tester named Dawn.
1. Work the indicated amount of stitches across the first side of your chain
2. Turn the chain around and work the indicated amount on the opposite side of the chain

Try not to use a stitch marker on the teeth. Round 4 will likely overlap the first stitch from the
previous round.

Teeth:
1. Pin the fangs or teeth underneath the chin.
2. Sew the teeth onto the head. This will be difficult to sew in some places.
