THE PATTERN
The number at the end of each row or round
is the number of stitches you should have.
The body parts (except the ears and eye
sockets) are crocheted in the round, without
turning or closing the round except for the
short rows.
To make sure you are not going to run out
of yarn, make all the parts first and leave
the blanket at the end.
The Head
With Espresso yarn and a 5mm crochet hook,
make a magic ring.
Round 1: 6sc in the magic ring, pull the magic
ring tail to close the hole shut = 6
Round 2: inc x 6 = 12
Round 3: *inc, sc* x 6 = 18
Round 4: *inc, sc in next 2sts* x 6= 24
Round 5: *inc, sc in next 3sts* x 6 = 30
Round 6: *inc, sc in next 4sts* x 6 = 36
Round 7: *inc, sc in next 5sts* x 6 = 42
Round 8: *inc, sc in next 6sts* x 6 = 48
Round 9: *inc, sc in next 7sts* x 6 = 54

The Muzzle
With Cappuccino yarn and a 5mm crochet
hook, make a magic ring
Round 1: ch6, (3sc) in the 2nd chain from
hook, sc in next 3sts, (3sc) in the last chain,
turn around and crochet on the other side of
the chain, sc in next 3sts = 12
Round 2: inc x 3, sc in next 3sts, inc x 6, sc
in next 3sts = 18
Round 3: *inc, sc* x 3, sc in next 3sts, *inc,
sc* x 3, sc in next 3sts = 24
Round 4: *inc, sc in next 2sts* x 3, sc in next
3sts, *inc, sc in next 2sts* x 3, sc in next 3sts
= 30
Round 5: *sc in next 3sts, inc* x 3, sc in next
3sts, *sc in next 3sts, inc* x 3, sc in next 3sts
= 36
Rounds 6-9 (4): sc in each st = 36
The Eye Sockets
Make 2. With Cappuccino and a 5mm
crochet hook, make a magic ring.
Row 1: ch4, hdc in the 2nd chain, hdc,
(3hdc) in last ch, rotate around to crochet
on the other side of the chain, 2hdc, ch1,
turn = 7
Row 2: sc in next 2sts, (2sc) in each next 3sts,
sc in next 2sts, fasten off, weave in the end
one one piece, leave the other so you can
connect the 2 pieces = 10
With Espresso, join on the corner side of one unfastened, sc in next 3sts on piece #2, sc in
piece.
Row 1: sl st in next 3sts, (2sc) in next 4sts, sl 4sts on piece #2, sc in next 7sts on piece #1 =
st, continue on 2nd piece and sl st in 3rd st 28
from the corner, (2sc) in next 4sts, sl st in Round 2: *dec, sc in next 5sts* x 4 = 24

Once the 2 eye sockets are connected, use
the tail of one piece to connect the middle of
the two pieces.
Insert the eyes in the bottom middle of each
eye socket.
The Fingers
With a 5mm crochet hook, make 8 pieces in
Cappuccino. Fasten off 6, leave the yarn
uncut on 2.
Round 1: 6sc in the magic ring, pull the
magic ring tail to close the hole shut = 6
Rounds 2-5(4): sc in each st = 6
Round 6: inc, sc in the next 5sts = 7
Round 7: sc in each st = 7
The Thumbs
With a 5mm crochet hook, make 2 pieces in
Cappuccino.
Round 1: 7sc in the magic ring, pull the
magic ring tail to close the hole shut = 7
Rounds 2-5(4): sc in each st = 7
Round 6: sc in the next 3sts, inc, sl st, stop
and fasten off.
The Hands
With a 5mm crochet hook, make 2 pieces in
cappuccino.
Round 1: Start with piece #1 that was
next 4sts on piece #3, sc in next 7sts on piece
#4, sc in next 3sts on piece #3, sc in next
Round 3: sc in each st = 24
Round 4: sc in the next 11sts, dec, sc in the
next 11sts = 23

Round 5: dec, sc in the next 21sts = 22
Round 6: sc in the next 10sts, dec, sc in the
next 10sts = 21
Round 7: dec, sc in the next 19sts = 20
Round 8: sc in each st = 20
Round 9: *dec, sc in the next 2sts* x 5 = 15
Change color to Espresso. Start to lightly fill
the fingers and hand with toy stuffing.
Continue to stuff as you work up the rounds.
Rounds 10-21(12): sc in each st = 15
Round 22: sc in the next 15sts, turn, sc in
the next 5sts, turn, sc in the next 5sts = 15
Round 23: sc2tog (insert hook on the side,
yarn over, pull up a loop, insert hook in the
first stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, (3
loops on hook), yarn over, pull through all 3
loops), sc in the next 8sts, sc2tog (insert
hook in next stitch, yarn over, pull up a
loop, yarn over, pull through all 3 loops on
hook), sc in the next 5sts = 15
Rounds 24-34: sc in each st = 15
Round 35: Flatten and sl st through both
sides, fasten off and leave a long tail.
Attaching The Thumbs
Place the two hands on the table and lightly
fill the thumbs with toy stuffing.
Use the tapestry needle to sew the thumbs
at the base of the hand (right above where
the dark brow color starts) on opposite sides
of each hand (if you attach it to the right
side of one hand, then attach the other
thumb to the left side of the other
hand).Weave in the ends.
The Legs
Each leg are made out of several parts:
- 4 toes
- 1 foot
- 1 calf & thigh

The Toes
With a 5mm crochet hook, make 8 pieces in
Cappuccino fasten off 6, leave the yarn
uncut on 2.

Round 1: 6sc in the magic ring, pull the
magic ring tail to close the hole shut = 6

The Foot
With a 5mm crochet hook, make 2 pieces in
Cappuccino starting with attaching the toes.
Round 1: Start with piece #1 that was
unfastened, sc in next 3sts on piece #2, sc in
next 4sts on piece #3, sc in next 7sts on piece
#4, sc in next 3sts on piece #3, sc in next
4sts on piece #2, sc in next 7sts on piece #1 =
28.

The process is the same.
Rounds 2-4(3): sc in each st = 28
Round 5: sc in the next 13sts, inc, sc in the
next 13sts = 27
Round 6: inc, sc in the next 25sts = 26
Round 7: sc in the next 12sts, inc, sc in the
next 12sts = 25
Round 8: *inc, sc in the next 3sts* x 5 = 20
Round 9: *inc, sc in the next 3sts* x 4 = 16
Rounds 10-14(5): sc in each st = 16
Round 15: *dec, sc in the next 2sts* x 4 = 12
Fasten off, leave a long tail and use the tail
to close the hole shut. Don't weave in the
ends.

Repeat rows 2 & 3 until your blanket is
100cm long.
Assembling The Monkey Blanket
Assembling The Head
Pin all the head parts to the head to make
sure you are happy with the end result.
First, fill the muzzle with toy stuffing and
pin it on the head to cover the magic ring.
Pin the eye sockets symmetrically right
above the muzzle. Push the tips of the
plastic eyes through the head so they won't
stick out.
Last, pin the ears on ether side of the head,
parallel to the eye sockets (try different
positions for the ears to see what works for
you).

Once happy with the placement, start
sewing the pieces to the head.
The muzzle is sewed with the Amigurumi
Seamless Join (see video linked in the
Monkey Playlist in Video Resources). So are
the ears.
The eye sockets are attached with simple
stitches along the dark brown rim (below
them, so the dark brown rim is un-attached
to the head)
Embroider the nostrils with expresso with
simple back and forth stitches. If you are
not sure of the placement, insert pins where
the nostrils should go and check you are
happy how it looks like.
My nostrils are places 3 rounds above the
starting chain of the muzzle and are 2
rounds long.
Assembling The Legs
Place a leg over the foot with the magic
circle touching the end of the foot.
Make sure that the knee bent is pointing at
the back and pin the pieces in place.
Use the Amigurumi Seamless Join to sew the
foot to the leg.
Folding The Blanket
Before attaching the body parts, fold the
blanket into a square.
Step 1: Place the blanket flat on the floor
with the wrong side up.
Step 2: Fold it on the long side so the ends
meet in the middle
Step 3: Fold the narrow side over (the
folded part is equal to the remaining
blanket.

Step 4: Fold the opposite narrow side over
the first side to form a relative square.
Attaching The Body Parts
Place the folded blanket with the exposed
edge towards you on a table or floor. Use
stitch markers or safety pins to mark the
position of the body parts on the folded
blanket.
Sew the head between the front legs, about
3 rows in. As a helping guide, mark the
center of the head then sew it to the
blanket. Fold over the blanket and sew a
circle around that center point you marked.
Your Monkey Baby Blanket is now complete.
