DIMETHICONE

Polydimethylsiloxane, also known as dimethylpolysiloxane or dimethicone, is a

silicone polymer with a wide variety of uses, from cosmetics to industrial
lubrication. It is particularly known for its unusual rheological properties. PDMS is
optically clear and, in general, inert, non-toxic, and non-flammable. It is used as a
surfactant, antifoaming agent, carminative in various products such as medical
devices, food products, and lubricants. It is used in a number of health and beauty
products including hair care products such as shampoo, conditioner, leave-in
conditioner, and de-tangling products. Dimethicone coats the cuticle of the hair,
making it feel smoother. Dimethicone also makes the texture of products more
“slippy,” allowing for easier application. Dimethicone is a silicone-based polymer
that is frequently used as a skin protectant in skincare products. The second most
common moisturizing ingredient found in moisturizers after petrolatum,
dimethicone helps condition the skin—improving its softness and flexibility. The
chemical formula for dimethicone (also known as polydimethylsiloxane or PDMS)
is CH3[Si(CH3)2O]n Si(CH3)3

Avoid applying the skin on the sensitive areas like eyes, mouth, nose and vaginal
area. Check the label for the direction of any areas or types of skin to be applied
on.

Butyrosperum parkii butter (shea butter)

Shea butter is a fat extracted from the nut of the African shea tree. It is ivory in
color when raw and commonly dyed yellow with borututu root or palm oil. It is
widely used in cosmetics as a moisturizer, salve or lotion. It is edible and is used in
food preparation in some African countries. Shea butter is rich in fatty acids and
other nutrients that are important for maintaining a healthy scalp and healthy hair.
The high content of vitamins A, E and F helps keep hair soft and moisturized,
which is especially important for people with naturally curly hair who often have
dry hair and a dry scalp. It acts as a sealant for curly and Afro-textured hair,
keeping precious moisture locked inside the strands, and it protects your hair and
scalp from UV damage.
It should be used cautiously, especially by pregnant women and breastfeeding
mothers, and only when prescribed by your doctor. In addition, you should take
caution while giving it to children and the elderly.

Stearamidopropyl dimethylamine
Stearamidopropyl dimethylamine is an emulsifier and a surfactant with cleansing
properties which is commonly used in hair care products to condition and improve
the appearance of hair. It was introduced as a replacement to silicones since they
are not easily broken down, and this compound is biodegradable.
Stearamidopropyl dimethylamine is derived from vegetable oil, and, like silicones,
is used to keep oils and waters properly blended. It also binds to the hair well,
which is considered an advantage, because it can keep static frizz and fly-aways
down throughout the day. C23H48N2O is the chemical formula of
Stearamidopropyl dimethylamine.
While dimethylamine may be effective at cleansing and conditioning the hair, it's
not without its risks. One potential concern is that it can cause hair damage over
time. This is because it can penetrate the hair cuticle and cause the hair to become
brittle and prone to breakage. It is generally considered safe for hair and skin when
used in accordance with recommended concentrations. Failing to do so may cause
allergies and other significant side effects. Performing a patch test prior to use is
highly recommended to ensure compatibility with skin and hair.

Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil

Argan oil is an amber-coloured oil derived from the kernels of the argan tree
(Argania spinosa), used for its composition of unsaturated fatty acids to nourish
and protect hair follicles. Argan is a flowering tree native to the dry southwestern
lands of Morocco and Algeria. Argan oil — or “liquid gold,” as many refer to it —
is made from the fresh kernels of the fruit of the argan tree in Morocco. Pure argan
oil has been used for centuries for cooking and as a home remedy for health and
beauty, including hair loss. Today it can be found in a number of hair and skin care
products.Argan oil has been shown to provide several health benefits when applied
to the skin and many of those benefits extend to the hair. Argan oil is full of fatty
acids and powerful antioxidants, such as vitamin E, that have been shown to have
benefits for your scalp and hair.
People should store argan oil away from direct sunlight and not use it if it has a bad
smell. Because argan oil comes from tree nuts, people with nut allergies should not
use this product. Additionally, some people may experience contact dermatitis
from using this product.
