WRITING TASK 2 - TOPIC: FAMILY

QUETSTION 7

When it comes to bringing up children, some people believe that mothers should take responsibility
for it most of the time. Hence, they should be provided with financial support by the government. I
am strongly against this notion since it probably leads to several issues in gender equality and the
national budget.

One view is that were women to invest almost all their time in taking care of children, they could be
prevented from developing their occupations and achieving their life goals. It is generally accepted
that rearing kids demands a huge amount of temporal resources; therefore, women taking
responsibility for it alone cope with an impossible situation - a number of them want to promote
their jobs but do not have any time to do it. As a result, they are blocked from numerous job
opportunities, and it is extremely more difficult for them to have any development in their careers
than men. This statement can be called gender inequality. Furthermore, their partners have to be
under money-related pressure, which probably results in isolating or frustrated feelings for women
since they could be attributed to parasites on their husbands.

Moreover, when women received financial assistance from the government, a large amount of
money in the state budget would be consumed. The population of the world is constituted of both
men and women, which means female citizens account for approximately half of the labor force.
Hence, provided that the government used money for the purpose of supporting female parents
who invest their time in bringing up children, heavy pressure on the national budget will be created.
In that circumstance, although funding support for women is for the sake of female benefits, it
would end up causing a wave of criticism of women. For instance, they would probably be
considered social burdens, and female positions in society would decrease.

In conclusion, I support the notion that women do not have to take responsibility for rearing
children, and no funding assistance should be provided by the government; otherwise, some
problems in sex equality and the government budget would occur.
