1. PURPOSE : SMP For Conductivity Meter / Transmitter


2. SCOPE : DM PLANT
3. RESPONSIBILITY : Instrumentation Engineer
4. TOOLS : Standard Buffer solution ,DMM ,Tools & Vacuum Cleaner
5. MANPOWER : Technician-1 , Helper -1
6. DURATION : 1 Hour For PM & 2 Hour For Calibration

7. PROCEDURE:

FOR PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE


7.1. Take the PTW against SAP PM Order no.
7.2. Clean the instrument & its surrounding area.
7.3. Check all fitting and connectors are well fitted.
7.4. cross check transmitter reading with plc workstation reading and note if any deviation or alarm
in TX or plc workstation
7.5. Tighten the cable tightness and lugs at JB and TX.
7.6. Check for proper tagging of instrument.
7.7. Properly cover the sensor and transmitter.
7.8. Update the PM check list & return the PTW.

MAINTENANCE DURING SHUTDOWN

7.9. Take the PTW against SAP PM Order.


7.10. Ensure the required isolations from the operators. Isolate the sampling line.
7.11. Tighten the mounting bolts with help of screw driver.
7.12. Clean the transmitter exterior with the help of cotton cloth.
7.13. If required clean instrument front with the help of diluted acid (I.e. 3% HCL).

7.14. Open the screwed cover on the right side of the transmitter. Remove the supply /signal
cable from the transmitter. Refer FIG-2 for cable connection.

7.15. Remove the sensor from the flow through chamber pot.
7.16. Clean the electrode tip with DM water and make it dry by a Clean proper cloth or tissue
paper.
7.17. Clean the flow through chamber pot thoroughly with help of brush and flush it by
opening the isolation valve & drain valve.
7.18. Mount the sensor carefully in to the flow through chamber (pot) carefully.
7.19. Connect the supply /signal cable from the transmitter. Refer FIG-2 for cable connection.
7.20. Check the reading in the display .The MyPro CLM 431(Transmitter) indicates errors by
means of an alarm Symbol flashing on the display. It also outputs an error current of 22 +/- 0.5
mA at the current output.
7.21. Refer 7.2 diagnostic codes of The MyPro CLM 431 manual for error identification.
7.22. Update the PM checklist & cancel the PTW.
DURING CALIBRATION

7.23. Take the PTW against calibration order.


7.24. Repeat step 7.3 to 7.9.
7.25. Connect the DMM on the output signal screw(1 &2 in the FIG-2)

7.26. Check the calibration settings in the transmitter / analyzer by operating 4 keys (shown in
FIG-4) and verify all the parameters.
7.27. Immerse the ConduMax W CLS 21 electrode on different Buffer solution (as per the
setting in the transmitter / analyzer), check the measured value and output signal (mA).
7.28. Carry out the two point calibration of the transmitter / analyzer in both the regions by
following t the method as per FIG-4.

7.29. If the system accuracy is falling under the acceptable limits ( SSL/CPP/ INST/FILE/29)
then mount
Back the sensor in the process carefully and normalize the measurement System.

7.30. Else if the system accuracy is not falling under the acceptable limits
(SSL/CPP/INST/FILE/29) then follow the Troubleshooting section of OEM manual to rectify the
system defects as per OEM
Recommendation.
7.31. Return the PTW, prepare the calibration report and maintain the required records.

8. QUALITY:

8.1. Measuring range(MR) 0-2000 mS/cm(uncompensated)


8.2. Max resolution 0.1 µS/cm.
8.3. Measurement Deviation +/- 0.5% of meas. Value+/- 4 digit.
8.4. Reproducibility +/- 0.2% of meas. Value+/- 4 digit.
8.5. Usable cell constant K=0.0025…..99.99 cm^-1
8.6. Ensure all the parameters and activities are maintained within prescribed limit.
8.7. Any deviation from the norm is recorded and corrective action is taken accordingly.

10. ENVIRONMENT:
10.1.Handle the maintenance waste and spillages properly.

11. OHSAS:
11.1. Ensure PPE, Helmet, adequate lighting near the work place.
11.2. Ensure healthiness & safety of the entire activities with respect electrical system and chemical
hazards.
11.3. Ensure deployment of a group of people (2 or more) while carrying out job in an isolated or
deserted place or in night shift.
