OVERVIEW
Jae Hyun Park is currently pursuing her PhD at the Institute of Development Studies, University of Sussex (from January
2017). Her research is on how Burmese political refugees returning from South Korea are contributing to development in
Myanmar and the relationship between this and their experience in South Korea. She has been a practitioner in the field of
refugee and migration for over 15 years through her work at South Korean NGOs, UNHCR offices in Sri Lanka and Uganda,
and the South Korean Ministry of Justice and is currently on leave of absence for study abroad from the Ministry.
