7. PROCEDURE:
DURING PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE
Version No: 03 Department: Power Plant SMP No: 2201/INST/WI-03 Revision No: 01 Revision Date:
FIG-1
7.14. Open the screwed cover on the right side of the transmitter. Remove the supply /signal cable from
the transmitter. Refer FIG-2 for cable connection.
FIG-2
Version No: 03 Department: Power Plant SMP No: 2201/INST/WI-03 Revision No: 01 Revision Date:
7.15. Remove the sensor from the CPK 7 connector of measuring cable (sensor to transmitter)
refer FIG-1&3 for assistance.
7.16. Remove the pH electrode from the flow through chamber pot carefully (as it is a glass electrode).
7.17. Check the electrode is not broken .clean the electrode tip with DM water and make it dry by a
Clean proper cloth or tissue paper.
7.18. Clean the flow through chamber pot thoroughly with help of brush and flush it by opening the
isolation valve & drain valve.
7.19. Mount the sensor carefully in to the flow through chamber(pot)carefully (as it is a glass
electrode),
7.20. Connect the male part of the sensor (2 in FIG-3) to the female part of the CPK7 connector (1 in
FIG-3) according to groove marking.
FIG-3
7.21. Connect the supply /signal cable from the transmitter. Refer FIG-2 for cable connection.
7.22. Check the reading in the display .The MyPro CPM 431(Transmitter) indicates errors by means of
an alarm Symbol flashing on the display. It also outputs an error current of22 +/- 0.5 mA at the current
output.
7.23. Refer 9.2 diagnostic codes of The MyPro CPM 431 manual for error identification.
7.24. Update the PM checklist & cancel the PTW.
DURING CALIBRATION
Version No: 03 Department: Power Plant SMP No: 2201/INST/WI-03 Revision No: 01 Revision Date:
7.27. Connect the male part of the sensor (2 in FIG-3) to the female part of the CPK7 connector (1 in
FIG-3) according to groove marking.
7.28. Connect the DMM on the output signal screw(1 &2 in the FIG-2)
FIG-4
7.29. Check the calibration settings in the transmitter / analyzer by operating 4 keys(shown in FIG-4)
and verify all the parameters.( Sensor parameters- mv for pH & resistance for the
RTD)
7.30. Immerse the pH electrode on different Buffer solution (as per the setting in the transmitter /
analyzer), one in acidic (pH≈ 3Offset calibration) and other in basic region (pH≈ 9 slope calibration) and
check the measured value (pH) and output signal (mA).
7.31. Carry out the two point calibration of the transmitter / analyzer in both the regions by following t
the method as per FIG-4 and then verify the system accuracy by immersing the sensor in the Neutral
water (pH≈ 7).
Version No: 03 Department: Power Plant SMP No: 2201/INST/WI-03 Revision No: 01 Revision Date:
FIG-4
7.32. If the system accuracy is falling under the acceptable limits ( SSL/CPP/ INST/FILE/29) then mount
Back the sensor in the process carefully (glass electrode, signal cable) and normalize the measurement
System.
7.33. Else if the system accuracy is not falling under the acceptable limits ( SSL/CPP/INST/FILE/29)
then follow the Troubleshooting section of OEM manual to rectify the system defects as per OEM
Recommendation.
