Product Owner service with Data Background

General Information of the assignment:

To support the evolution of the Organisation to become Data-Centric, we are building a Data platform. The
Data platform teams started to implement a new Operating Model based on Agile frameworks (Scrum,
ScrumBan) since September 2021, and are composed of different IT data-oriented profiles (Data Engineers,
Integration Engineer, Data Practitioners), Product Owners and Scrum Masters.

The Organisation is looking for a Product Owner with an agile mindset and a strong background in Data to
integrate one of the Data platform teams.
Service description

Responsibilities

 Be able to talk in the customer language and be the customer voice for the team;
 Give the right direction to the team through the customer feedback (you will have the mandate) ;
 Identify who are your real Stakeholders.
 Collaborate with the Stakeholders to define and maintain the strategic Product Vision, the Product
Roadmap and the Product Goal ;
 Motivate the Stakeholders to participate to the Spring Review and give their feedback to the team.
 Prepare and present the Sprint Review with the team (shared responsibility);
 Be part of the team and have good relationships with the other team-members to ensure a fluent
cooperation ;
 Own and manage the Product backlog : creation, prioritization, communication, refinement of the
Product Backlog Items ;
 Understand the market, the customer and the business requests in order to make sound decisions,
prioritize the needs and decide what to build (saying “no” to some feature requests) for maximizing
value ;
 Oversee development stages, follow up on product progress and changes during the Sprint
 Safeguard the quality of development work by ensuring that the executed Product Backlog Items meet
acceptance criteria and the definition of done.

Service requirements:

Required experience and skills

 Strong interpersonal, communication & collaboration skills

 Open and continuous improvement mindset
 Solution-oriented, able to work independently as well as in a cross-functional and self-organizing team
 Work accurately and have an eye for details and quality
 Proven work experience as a Product Owner (minimum 4 years)
 Relevant experience with a definition of minimum marketable features and minimum viable products.
 Be able to facilitate some exercises with your stakeholders like a Story Mapping or a Design Thinking
journey (identify the stakeholders, interviews, persona, customer journey, root cause analysis, etc.)
would be a big plus
 Experience Self-service on Data background
 Overall understanding of Azure technologies

Languages:
  Professional oral and written English communication
 Dutch-French-German knowledge are a big plus.

Working hours & workplace:

Workload : 40h/week

Workplace: Brussels and accept to travel occasionally to Berlin.
