SUMMARISE

This text is extracted from article "Obesity Study among Secondary School Students at Duhok
City", belong to hmad H Ibrahim et al. There are 3 main ideas in this text. First one is overview
about obesity and BMI socre. Next is the result of survey in secondary school. Finally is obesity
in children.

To begin with, Obesity is alarm global problem and is more and more increasing, especially in
the Kurdistan region of Iraq. BMI z-scores is used to determine obesity. Metric BMI = weight
(kg) / height (m2). Next, there is a survey carried out in secondary school students in the
Kurdistan region showed that 6% are obese students, 36% are overweight students and 50% are
healthy students. The survey also indicated the difference rate of obesity and overweight
between boys and girls. BMI socre varise based on different factors such as sex, age and body
composition. The survey highlighs the differences in body fat distribution, age and body
composition of men and women. Since that focusing the importance of BMI score in control
weight. Finally, there are some challenges with obese children. It is considered as a significant
concern. There are a lot of consequences that lead to obesity in children such as eating habits,
inactivity lifestyles, environmental influences,.. Beside, this text also emphasizes the importance
of managment strategies to solve obesity in chirldren. Conclusion, eating healthy is begin to
play an important role in human life. Obesity is a serious problem. However the survey in Duhok
City is not as high as in Middle Eastern and Western countries.
