Dear Ms Kahn,

I am kindly seeking your permission to conduct a research study titled "Gamified

Storytelling: How Gamification can be used in Storytelling to Teach Primary School Children
in the United Arab Emirates?" at Mubarak Bin Mohammed Charter School. The purpose of
this study is to investigate the impact of gamified storytelling on student learning.
Research Objective:
To explore and assess the effectiveness of gamified storytelling techniques in enhancing
engagement, comprehension and learning outcomes among primary school children in the
United Arab Emirates.

This objective focuses on investigating how integrating elements of gamification with

storytelling can impact learning processes and outcomes, offering practical insights into its
potential benefits and challenges within an educational setting.
Duration: April 29, 2024 to May 3, 2024
Participants: Grade 4 students
Methodology: This study will use a mixed-methods approach to evaluate the impact of
gamified storytelling on student engagement and comprehension. It involves pre- and post-
intervention assessments, observations and semi-structured interviews during the intervention
period.
Expected Outcomes:
This study aims to:
1. Assess the effectiveness of gamified storytelling in increasing student engagement
and improving comprehension skills among primary school children.
2. Identify best practices and potential challenges in integrating gamification with
storytelling in an educational setting.
 3. Provide insights into how gamified storytelling can be tailored to enhance educational
outcomes in primary schools across the UAE.
4. Increase opportunities for students to use digital technologies in lessons to improve
their learning.

These outcomes will contribute to a better understanding of innovative teaching methods and
support informed decision-making in educational strategies.
Confidentiality:
All data collected will be confidential and used solely for academic purposes. Participant
anonymity will be strictly maintained and no individual identifiers will be disclosed in any
reports or publications.
