Subject-'Jal Doot' Program under Jal Shakti Abhiyan: Catch the Rain Campaign -reg.
Madam/Sir,
I am to refer letter no. CBSE/ ACAD/DS (MS)/2024, dated: 16.04.2024, on the subject
cited above and to inform regarding 'Jal Shakti Abhiyan: Catch the Rain' Campaign launched
by Hon' able Prime Minister on 22.03.2021. The campaign focuses on rainwater harvesting,
water conservation, enumerating, geo-tagging & making inventory of all water bodies;
preparation of scientific plans for water conservation, setting up Jal Shakti Kendras in all
districts, intensive afforestation and awareness generation. The students represent the most
dynamic and influential segment of the community, capable of driving significant social and
environmental change.
Under the program, following are the instructions:
1. Students of classes VIII to XII called 'Jal Doots', will participate.
2. Activities pertaining to Jal Doot program may be undertaken by the schools like-
Making of colorful posters, paintings, or drawings, skit or Nukkad, Poem Recitation
competition, Quiz competition, Construction of Rainwater Harvesting site in school,
organizing sessions on rainwater harvesting and its benefits, water audit at
different points in school to h"ack the daily water usage, free plantation drive in
schools, talks during Morning Assembly, Classroom Activity on Water
conservation etc.
3. KVs to upload a brief report on any of the activity(s) of Jal Doot program at the link

It is, therefore, requested to disseminate the above information and issue directions to all
Kendriya Vidyalayas under the Region to encourage the students to participate in the Jal Doot
program.
