Lilo & Stitch is a fil m that spins around the

life of a little Hawaiian girl (Lilo) who has

lived alone with her sister Nani since the
d e a t h o f h e r p a r e n t s . O n e d a y, t h e s t r a n g e
little extraterrestrial creature known as
Experiment 626 (later Stitch) had to fl ee his
planet by stealing a spaceship when he was
se ntenc ed to exile. Th e intergalactic h unters
who c reated hi m ill egally bear the task of
pursuing hi m because he was a creature
d e s i g n e d w i t h o n l y t h e p u r p o s e o f d e s t r u c t i o n.
W h e n t h e e x p e r i m e n t a r r i v e s o n Ea r t h , h i s
path crosses that of Lilo, who, by living with
h i m a n d ke e p i n g h i m a s h e r p e t , m a ke s h i m
reevaluate his sense of existence and consider
chan ge throu gh her faith in th e term 'ohana'
which means "fa mily" in a broad sense that
ranges from blood relatives to those who are
not, but we choose. Through crazy things and
experiences, Lilo wins Stitch's heart, so he
sta rts feeling love a nd ca re for someone.
I chose this movie becaus e, beyond being a
big fan of the fi gure of Stitch, I think it has a
great messa ge regarding the i mportance of
the affection of all thos e who surround us and
c o n s i d e r f a m i l y. I c o n s i d e r my s e l f a p e r s o n
w h o i s v e r y c l o s e t o a l l my l o v e d o n e s , e v e n
t h o s e w h o s o m e t i m e s s e e m i n s e n s i t i v e ( l i ke
Stitch was), so it is indeed one of my
favourite movies.
