PERFECT SETTING

The spacious open-plan restaurant / bar area is situated a mere 20 meters from the beach. The
exquisite cuisine emphasises the use of organic local ingredients; fresh fish is a regular feature.
A fine selection of beverages are available at the bar and no better way to end the day than
with a cocktail soaking up the last rays of the sun setting over the Atlantic.
DIVERSE COASTAL NATURE
Vast mangroves and lagoon systems, coastal forest, ancient savannahs and
uninterrupted golden beaches. Pongara National Park is a diverse habitat for a
variety of land and marine fauna. The lowland forest and expansive flora present,
hosts an endless variety of insects whilst birdlife is prolific.
LUXURIOUS HARMONY
Luxurious wooden bungalows blend seamlessly into the natural surroundings. Rooms
are ensuite and air-conditioned with crisp-white linen and all the expected amenities
from a high-end lodge. The eleven rooms consist of four freestanding bungalows, two
double units ( individual bathrooms) and a family chalet. All rooms are tucked into the
edge of the forest, overlooking a small savanna and the Atlantic Ocean.
TURTLE HAVEN
Pongara National Park receives thousands of nesting sea turtles between November
and March and the Gabonese coastline is one of the most significant nesting place
for leatherback turtles.
In cooperation with the National Parks board and other conservation entities,
Gabon Wildlife Camps and Safaris contribute to the protection of sea turtles whilst
giving guests an unforgettable experience.
BEACH PARTIES
The presence of berry-bearing Manilkara trees along the
coastline of Pongara National Park result in spectacular
“beach parties” which is attended by big and small. Elephants
in particular enjoy spending some quality “beach time” in the
afternoon and can be observed regularly on drives and hikes.
