supplements are not registered and the Cerlificate ofProduct Registration (CPR) have not yet
been issued. Pursuant to the Republic Acl No. 971 l. olherwise known as the 'Food and Drug
Adnrinistration Acl ol2009", the manufacture. importation, exportation. sale, oll-ering fo( sale.
distribution, transfer. non-consumer use- promotion, advertising or sponsorship of health
producls wilhout the proper authorization is prohibited
Since these ufiegistered food supplemellts have not gone through evaluation process of the
FDA, the agency cannot grarantee their quality and safcty. Tte consumption ofsuch violative
products may pose health risk to consumers.

In light ofthe foregoing, the public is advised rot to purchase violative products in the market.
Moreover, the public is advised to always check ifa food product is registered with the FDA.
The FDA website (w\r'w.fda.sov.ph) has a Sealc, feature which may be used by U?ing in the
name ofthe product before purchasing.

All concemed establishments are wamed not to distribute violative food products until they
have been issued the appropriate autho zation, a License to Operate (LTO) for the
establishment, and a CPR for the food product.

AII FDA Field OfTicers and Regulatory Enforcement Unit (REU) jn coordination with the law
enforcement agencies and Local Govemment Units (LGUS) are requested to ensure that
violative products are not sold or made available in their localities or areas ofjurisdiction.
