What is DEFINITION

Citation?
To "cite" is "to name in a
citation" or "to quote by way
of example, authority, or
proof" and "citation" means
the "act of quoting" (Merriam-
Webster) from a source.
Citing Shows a list of sources you used in

APA Style
The APA style was developed by the American Psychological
Association. It is a set of rules to follow when citing sources.

It is mostly used in the field of Social Sciences (ex.


Psychology, Sociology, Economics, Criminology) business,
and nursing (Purdue Online Writing Lab).
There are 2 ways
to cite your source:

In-text citation
References Page
In-text Citation:
In-text citation is how you cite your source when you
mention them in the paper or research you are writing.

In-text citation uses the author-date


citation system. This is when the last
name/s of the author and the year
when the work was published is
shown in the body of your text.

There are two ways to cite your source inside your text:

1.Parenthetical Citations -

(Author's last name, year of publication)

Example:
A century ago there were hundreds of thousands of rhinos in Africa but
this number decreased to 19,000 by the early 1980 (Vitale, 2020).

There are two ways to cite your source inside your text:
