What can governments do to help reduce the amount of rubbish
produced?

In modern times, the issue of waste production and management has

become highly controversial. There has been a rising amount of waste
and the waste management in every day and this problem will be further
aggravated. In this essay I will discuss the reasons for the abnormal
increase in waste production and the measures that government can
decrease rubbish by educating the public and by promoting recycling.
Generally speaking, there are a number of reasons for increase of
rubbish such as over population and increasing industrialization. Due to
the population has been an increase in the amount of garbage that is
produced by household. And most of the people are not aware about it.
During the covid-19 pandemic, for example, disposable goods like
gloves, masks, and gowns increased.
Despite these arguments, many people feel that government should be
taken some step. Also waste disposal management techniques
aggravated the problem. The manufacturing industry, construction and
household thinks activity account for half of the waste. Government
should emphasize on production and consumption of sustainable
products and also reduce of using plastic and perishable goods. Today,
waste is also generated as a result of society’s attempt to solve other
environmental issues.
In conclusion, it must be said that product of waste has become a
complex issue with no easy solutions. That said I feel that
overpopulation and industrialization have resulted in a rise in garbage
generation. However, by implementing efficient methods such as
recycling, decreasing, and reusing garbage, the problem of rising waste
can be stopped.
