Essay: Impact on Globalization

Globalization has led to a broadening of beliefs and knowledge, enabling people to discuss,
spread, and exchange ideas to even the most remote corners of the globe. Nonetheless, the effects of
religion on globalization are still felt today, as seen in the arguments over what is true and false, who is
right and wrong, what to believe in, and whom not to trust. It also made it possible for people to get
together and form groups based on shared beliefs. Given that even though there is currently opposition
to the standardization of religion, I can't dispute that the majority of people are united by religion, which
has a positive impact on globalization and balances the disagreements arising from disparate belief
systems.

Roman Catholics are among those who exemplify this. Globalization was facilitated by those who
propagated this religion out of Jerusalem and preached what they believed to be the inspired word of
God. The fact that religion unites people, shrinks the world as discussed in earlier modules on
globalization, and enables people to communicate in a language that others can comprehend—what
they refer to as "faith"—is in and of itself an impact of religion on globalization. The idea of God's
Kingdom serves as one illustration of this. This belief system also instructs its adherents to treat others
well and the world He has created well, seeing ourselves as God's children, stewards, and creation.
When applied to globalization, this shared belief system, or language, among its adherents enables
people to take actions that ultimately bring them together in the pursuit of sharing God's word and His
love. This belief system also tends to make the world smaller, particularly as more people adopt it.

Having said that, it is crucial to recognize the negative effects of globalization and religion. Due
to the fact that the majority of people on our planet are Christians, the diversity of beliefs around the
world has decreased. To refute this, though, consider the fact that other people follow different religions
in other nations. Although the majority does indeed practice Christianity, there are still nations where
laws have been passed allowing people to practice any other religion they choose. For instance, Article 3
Section 5 of the 1987 Constitution of our nation states that everyone is free to practice and enjoy any
religion they choose, free from discrimination or preference. This permits variety without infringing upon
the views of others or imposing one's own ideologies on them. This permits the unrestricted practice of
religion in spite of the globalization's resultant homogenization.

In conclusion, despite the negative effects of globalization-induced religious homogenization, the

influence of religion on globalization cannot be understated since it contributed to the spread of cultural
and intellectual resources, which in turn helped to reduce the size of the world and allow people to unite
around shared beliefs.
