TOPIC Module 2: My week TIME

SKILLS PEDAGOGY (STRATEGY/ACTIVITY)

Content Standard:

Main: 1.2 Understand meaning in a variety of familiar

contexts

Complementary: 1.1 Recognise and reproduce

target language sounds

Pre-lesson: Ask pupils what subjects they are good at and

what subjects they are bad at.

Lesson delivery:

1. Pupils are given a set of puzzles. Pupils match the pictures

of the subjects to the words.

2. Pupils listen to a song (CD 1 Track 19) and are asked to

guess what the song is about.

3. Each pupil in the group takes the piece of puzzle with

subject pictures on it. Teacher plays the song and pupils

raise the pictures according to the lyrics.

4. Pupils who raise pictures wrongly will be asked to do a

dare challenge (*prepared by teacher).

Post-lesson: Pupils sing the song and share why they like
and don’t like certain subjects in a think-pair-share session

with their group members.

Pre-lesson: Pupils refer to their timetable for the day and

share on what subject they are looking forward to for the day

and the reason.

Lesson delivery:

1. Pupils copy the table from Activity 3, textbook page 15.

Sentence patterns that are going to be used are explained.

Student A: What’s your favourite subject?

Student B: Science

2. Pupils are introduced to ways of displaying in graphs.

Teacher shows an example.


3. Pupils go around the class practicing the sentence

patterns while filling in the table in the exercise books.

4. Pupils sit together with their group members and come out

with a graph related to their findings.

Post-lesson: Pupils display their graphs on the wall.

enjoyment

Complementary: 3.2 Understand a variety of linear

and non-linear print and digital texts by using

appropriate reading strategies

Pre-lesson: Ask pupils to refer to their timetables and ask

them what subjects they would like to have more hours of

and what subjects they’d like less hours of. Encourage pupils

to have a discussion their groups and justify.

Lesson delivery:

1. Pupils refer to textbook page 16. Pupils read the story


guided by CD 1 Track 22.

2. A few questions are asked to check pupils’ comprehension

of the story.

3. Pupils play the True/False boardgame with their group

members. Pupils roll the dice and move their

rubber/sharpener to the position. Pupils pick a card and says

the statement to the person on their left. The person says out

true or false.

Post-lesson: Pupils share their experiences on walking into

the wrong classroom or other similar experiences.

Main: 3.3.1 Read and enjoy A1 fiction/non-fiction

print and digital texts of interest

Complementary: 3.2.1 Understand the main idea

of simple texts of one or two paragraphs

transfer at least 4 information correctly form the email

to the biodata.

Pre-lesson: Pupils are introduced to target languages. Ex:


once, twice, three times and every day.

Lesson delivery:

1. Pupils are introduced to ‘Daniel’s daily routine timetable’.

Pupils are asked to observe the table.

2. Pupils are asked a few questions and guided to write

sentences based on the table. Ex: How often does Daniel go

for his Art class?

3. Pupils are guided to create 5 statements on their own for a

True/False game based on the table shown. Pupils create a

quiz in groups.

4. Pupils pass their quiz to the other group and completes the

quiz.

Post lesson: Pupils return the quiz to the original group for

assessment and pupils get to know their points.

*Pupils are asked to bring colour pencils, coloured papers

and pictures of families for the next lesson.

Learning Standard:

Main: 4.2.4 Describe people and objects using

suitable statements

Complementary: 3.2.2 Understand specific

information and details of simple texts of one or two

paragraphs

OBJECTIVES TEACHING AIDS:

Main: At the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to

TOPIC POEM 4: GRANDMA'S HOUSE TIME

1. Teacher recites the poem for pupils to listen.

2. Teacher recites the poem with pupils guided with actions.

3. Pupils receive the ‘Let’s Analyse’ worksheet. / Pupils can

copy the table from the board.

4. Pupils analyse the poem by filling in the worksheet based

on the poem.

5. Pupils can create a diorama in groups using a shoe box for

each group. / Pupils each create a foldable and combine four

foldables into one triorama as shown in the blog. Pupils use

the stationeries and materials that they have brought.

Post-lesson: Pupils showcase their diorama / triorama

Learning Standard:

Main: 5.3.1 Respond imaginatively and intelligibly

through creating simple picture stories, simple poems

and cartoon stories. Other imaginative responses as

appropriate

analyse the poem by filling in at least 6 blanks about

the poem correctly.
