Section 4 – Method Statement


# Description Responsibilities
1 Pre job safety meeting with all the lifting team and truck drivers
2 Visual check for lifting accessories, Crane and Crane Operator
3 Check the load movement path is without obstacles on the way
4 Position of Crane beside the load (clear distance between Crane and load is 4 meters),
rig up the Crane and lifting accessories
5 Slinging the load using proper slings, soft slings and shackles
6 - Rigger to be positioned with a good visual contact with crane operator.
- The truck shall park next to the crane. The crane shall slightly lift the
container to allow the truck to move forward. Then the container shall be
placed in its final position.
- If relocation is required, then an updated sketch shall be added to the
lifting plan.
- The truck shall park next to the crane. The crane shall slightly lift the loads
to allow the truck to move forward. Then the load shall be placed in its
final position.
Banks Man will be the only person giving signals to crane operator

Loads description:
 12 meters container, 13 tons weight.
 5 tons package.

7 Disconnect all lifting accessories


8 Rig down crane and move lifting accessories back to its designated location

Section 5 – Route to be Travelled & Laydown Area

1 Has the route to be travelled been selected and cleared of obstructions? Yes
2 Is the laydown / landing area(s) adequate in both size and load bearing capacity? Yes
3 Is suitable packing available for protection of load / slings while landing the load (e.g. timber)? Yes
4 Have barriers been positioned to prevent access to unauthorized personnel? Yes
5 Have you confirmed that the laydown area is within the operating radius of the Crane? Yes
6 Will the banksman always be visible to the Crane operator or has an alternative method of Yes
communication (e.g. radios) is available?
7 Is the lift below 70% of Safe Working Load? Yes
