ASTHMA

• Asthma is a heterogeneous disease characterized by chronic inflammation of


breathing
• Asthma is defined by a history of respiratory symptoms such as dyspnea, wheezing,
heaviness, and cough, which change over time and in intensity, along with fluctuating
expiratory airflow limitation.
• Actually the disease and asthma are one. These are different names for a medical
condition. Asthma management is the medical name. While asthma or disease is more
widely used in the community.
 It is very common in adults and children, but is more common in children and
adolescents. If you have a family member with asthma, you are at higher risk of
developing the disease. In addition, a history of allergies is also a risk factor.
