SUMMARY:
This project report summarizes the activities undertaken during the summer
internship program in KHETI BADI Store. The main objective of the internship
was to gain practical experience in sales and marketing within the agribusiness
sector. The report highlights the tasks accomplished, challenges faced, and key
learning outcomes during the internship period.

INTRODUCTION:
The internship took place at a prominent agricultural input store that deals with a
diverse range of products, including seeds, medicines, and fertilizers. The store
caters to farmers, gardeners, and agricultural enthusiasts, offering high-quality
products and expert advice to optimize crop yield and improve agricultural
practices.

OBJECTIVES:
The primary objectives of the summer internship program were as follows:
 Gain hands-on experience in sales and marketing within the agribusiness
industry.
 Understand the agribusiness industry and its dynamics.
 Gain insights into the sales and marketing strategies specific to seeds,
medicines, and fertilizers.
 Assist in promoting products and attracting new customers during the peak
summer and rainy season.
 Analyze customer preferences and tailor marketing efforts accordingly.
 Observe and learn from experienced professionals in the field.

WORK LIST:-
1. Visit different villages of farmers.
2. Collection of data from the farmers about their crop production, which type
of Crop they grown, how many acres they cropping, and Telling the farmers
about our new outlet.
3. Discussion with the farmers about their problems regarding farming.
4. Giving some solution about their problems, which faced during cultivation
of crops.
5. After opening of our outlet some farmers are came and telling their
problems, according to their problems we gave recommended medicine for
their problem.
6. Know about different types of product are available in different disease.
7. Reading about the product uses and benefits.
8. Inventory management: Assisting with inventory control, including
receiving, organizing, and managing stock of seeds, medicines, and
fertilizers. This involves keeping track of product quantities, ensuring proper
storage conditions, and monitoring expiration dates.
9. Customer service: Interacting with customers, providing information about
various seeds, medicines, and fertilizers, and helping them make informed
purchasing decisions based on their specific needs. This includes answering
inquiries, addressing concerns, and offering recommendations.
10.Sales support: Assisting in sales activities, such as displaying products,
visiting farmers field and also be involved in pricing strategies, discounts,
and special offers to attract customers.
11.Product knowledge: Developing a thorough understanding of the different
types of seeds, medicines, and fertilizers available in the store. Learning
about their characteristics, benefits, and usage instructions will enable you to
provide better assistance to customers.
12.Store maintenance: Supporting general store maintenance tasks, including
cleanliness, organization, and ensuring a well-stocked display area. This
helps create an inviting and pleasant shopping environment for customers.
13.Market research: Conducting market research to identify customer
preferences, emerging trends, and competitor analysis. This information can
be used to improve product offerings, optimize pricing strategies, and
develop targeted marketing campaigns.

14.Data analysis: Assisting in analyzing sales data and customer feedback to


identify patterns, trends, and areas for improvement. This can contribute to
making informed business decisions and optimizing the store’s performance.
During this period, I continued working on how to do marketing, which
involved developing a marketing knowledge of every product.
KNOWLEDGE GAIN/ MILEAGE :-
During a summer internship program in khetibadi, I have gain valuable knowledge
and mileage in various field. Here are some potential areas of learning and
professional development:
 Product Knowledge: As a Interns will have the opportunity to familiarize
themselves with different types of seeds, medicines, and fertilizers available
in the market. Will learn about the characteristics, benefits, and applications
of various products, understanding their suitability for different crops and
farming practices.
 Inventory Management: Managing inventory is crucial in a store dealing
with agricultural inputs. As a Interns will learn about inventory control
methods, stock rotation, shelf life management, and how to maintain optimal
inventory levels to meet customer demands.
 Customer Interaction: As a Interns i have the chance to interact with
customers and understand their requirements. I will learn effective
communication skills, customer service techniques, and how to provide
appropriate recommendations based on customers’ needs, such as suggesting
the right seed varieties or advising on suitable fertilizers.
 Sales and Marketing Strategies: As a Interns I have assist in developing
sales and marketing strategies for promoting agricultural inputs. I learned
about pricing strategies, promotional activities, and customer segmentation
to effectively target farmers and maximize sales.
 Farm Visits and Field Trials: I involved in visiting farms and participating
in field trials. This hands-on experience allows me to observe the practical
application of agricultural inputs, assess their effectiveness, and learn about
agronomic practices, crop management techniques, and pest control
strategies.
 Teamwork: when we are working in a store environment it can develop
teamwork skills, learn to coordinate with each other, and understand the
importance of a farmer’s in achieving organizational goals.

Overall, a summer internship programme having an opportunity to gain practical


knowledge about agricultural inputs, customer engagement, sales and marketing
strategies, regulatory compliance, and industry trends. This experience can be
instrumental in building a foundation for a career in agribusiness management or
related fields.

INTUITION/INSTRUCTION GAINED :-
During a summer internship program I gained valuable intuition and instructions
related to various aspects of the agriculture industry. Here are some key areas you
might focus on:
1. Seed selection and management :-
 Understanding the different types of seeds available and their characteristics.
 Learning about the best seed varieties for different crops and soil types.(ex:
brinjal Radhika variety gives higher amount of yield)
 Identifying factors that affect seed germination and yield.( Exh They don’t
do a proper seed treatment and proper irrigation in their field)
 Recommending appropriate seed treatments and storage techniques.
 providing guidance on seed planting and spacing.
2. Medicine and Pest Management:
 Learning about common pests and diseases that affect crops in the area.
 Understanding the different types of pesticides, insecticides, and fungicides
available and their proper usage.
 Identifying symptoms of plant diseases and recommending appropriate
treatments.
3. Fertilizer Application and Nutrient Management:
 Understanding soil fertility and the role of different nutrients in crop
growth.
 Recommending appropriate fertilizers based on soil nutrient deficiencies.
 Providing guidance on the timing and methods of fertilizer application.
 Educating farmers about the importance of balanced nutrient management
for sustainable agriculture.
 Promoting organic and sustainable fertilizer alternatives to chemical-based
products.

PROJECT REPORT:-
This project report outlines my experience and accomplishments during my
summer internship program in Agribusiness Management at a seed, medicine, and
fertilizer store. The objective of the internship was to gain practical knowledge and
skills in sales and marketing within the agricultural industry. Throughout the
internship, I was involved in various activities aimed at promoting and selling
agricultural products to farmers and customers.
Company Overview:
The KHETI BADI store where the internship took place is a well-established
agricultural input supplier in the local community. The store provides a wide range
of high-quality seeds, medicines and fertilizers for different farming needs. The

store caters to a diverse customer base consisting of small-scale farmers, large


commercial farms, and garden enthusiasts.
Internship Responsibilities:
During my internship, I was assigned the following responsibilities:
a) Customer Assistance: I assisted customers in finding the right seeds,
medicines, and fertilizers based on their specific requirements. I provided
guidance on product selection, usage instructions, and addressed their
queries.
b) Inventory Management: I participated in managing the store’s inventory,
including stock checking, updating product records, and ensuring sufficient
stock levels of popular products.
c) Promotional Activities: I actively participated in promotional campaigns,
both online and offline. This included designing and distributing pamphlets,
organizing product demonstrations, and participating in agricultural fairs and
exhibitions.
d) Customer Relationship Management: I focused on building strong
relationships with customers by providing personalized assistance and
following up on their feedback. I also maintained a customer database for
future marketing initiatives.
e) Market Research: I conducted market research to identify potential
customer segments and their preferences. This involved analyzing customer
data, studying competitor offerings, and identifying market trends.
Accomplishments and Learnings:
During the internship, I achieved the following significant accomplishments:
a) Increased Sales: By actively engaging with customers and providing
valuable product recommendations, I contributed to a noticeable increase in
sales during the internship period.
b) Improved Customer Satisfaction: Through effective customer assistance
and relationship building, I received positive feedback from numerous
customers regarding their experience at the store.
c) Enhanced Product Knowledge: Through continuous learning and
interaction with agricultural experts, I acquired in-depth knowledge of
various seeds, medicines, and fertilizers, enabling me to better assist
customers.

d) Developed Marketing Skills: I gained practical experience in marketing


strategies, including the creation of promotional materials, organizing
events, and conducting market research.

CHALLENGES FACED:
During the internship, I encountered a few challenges, including:
a) Customer Education: Some customers had limited knowledge about the
different products and their usage. However, through patient explanations and
product demonstrations, I was able to address their concerns and provide them
with the necessary information.
b) Seasonal Demand Variation: The demand for agricultural inputs varied based
on the farming season. It required adapting marketing strategies and inventory
management to ensure adequate stock during peak demand periods.

CONCLUSION:-
 In this summer internship program I have gained practical experience and
knowledge in the field of agriculture. Throughout the program, i have the
chance to engage in various aspects of sales and marketing and visiting
farmers field, allowing them to develop essential skills and understanding
the farmers requirment.
 First and foremost, the internship program offers a comprehensive
understanding of the seed, medicine, and fertilizers market. Interns become
familiar with different types of seeds, their characteristics, and the specific
requirements for successful crop cultivation. They also learn about the
various medicines and fertilizers available in the market, their benefits, and
the appropriate usage in different agricultural practices.
 Hands-on experience is a crucial component of the internship program.As a
Interns actively participate in sales activities, where they engage with
customers, answer their queries, and provide them with expert advice on
seed selection, medicine usage, and fertilizers application. practical
experience gives better communication skills, enhances ability to build
customer relationships, and develops their product knowledge. By
interacting directly with farmers, interns gain insights into the challenges

and needs of the agricultural community, enabling them to better understand


the market dynamics.
Overall, the summer internship program on KHETI BADI gives hands-on
experience, exposure to marketing strategies, and collaboration with the farmers,
As a intern it develop a comprehensive understanding of the agribusiness market.
They acquire practical skills in sales and marketing, strengthen their
communication abilities, and gain insights into the needs of farmers.

SUGGESTION:-
 The requirement of the farmers in that locality specifically
are urea, gromer, potash.
 Rooting hormones are very much required for those who
have garden in thein home.
 We should make sure that availability of ZINEB 75%WP
fungicides which act against Phomopsis Blight in Brinjal.
 We should make sure that the availability of varieties of
rice like; Kala Champa,Swarna sub-1,puja.
 More number of socio-cultural training programme and
events leads to create awareness amoung farmers.
 We should consider our the actual value of the product as,
some product value is very much high.
