The table and charts below give information on the police budget for 2017 and 2018 in one

area of Britain. The table shows where the money came from and the charts show how it
was distributed.

The bar chart illustrates the outlay of police between 2017 and 2018 in Britain. Furthermore, the
pie chart demonstrated the expenditure in three different sectors namely: salaries, technology and
building and transport during 2017 and 2018.
Overall, as we can see in the bar chart, all of the sources witnessed an upward trend throughout
the period. Furthermore, regarding the expenditure, Salaries experienced a downward trend while
Technology saw the opposite pattern.

In terms of the bar chart, the most significant change was seen in Local Taxes, which increased
by more than 10m. Moreover, the highest figure belonged to National Government, which had a
slightly rise of over 2m. Other sources were the lowest rate, which stood at 38m in 2017 then
grew minimally to 38,5 in 2018.

With regard to the pie chart, the expenditure for salaries was the highest figure, which accounted
for 75% before witnessed a slightly decrease of 6%. The opposite trend was found for
Technology which went up by 6% in 2018. Additionally, the outlay for buildings and transport
remained relatively unchanged, which made up 17% during the period.
