INTRODUCTION
The eyes are not only the window to the soul but
also one of the first places where signs of aging
may appear.

Delicate, thin, and constantly in motion, the

skin around your eyes requires special attention
to maintain its health and vitality.

I created this eBook for those who seek the latest

and most effective strategies for keeping the eye
area looking youthful and radiant!
2
The Eye
Area &
Aging
Before diving into solutions, it's important to understand what
makes the eye area is particularly vulnerable to aging:

The skin here is thinner and has fewer oil glands than the
rest of the face, making it more susceptible to dryness and
wrinkling.
Constant facial expressions can cause repetitive lines. If you
squint a lot, for example.
Exposure to the sun’s UV light
Hormonal changes and loss of collagen which begin over age
35 for most women
The natural aging process.
Dietary choices
Poor sleep
Cortisol overproduction from chronic stress

All also contribute to fine lines, dark circles & puffiness. BUT
there is a lot you can do, at any age, to improve your eye area!
Here are
some
solutions!

PROVEN
INGREDIENTS FOR
EYE SKINCARE
When searching for eye treatments, focus on products containing these
research-backed ingredients:

Retinol: A derivative of vitamin A, retinol can accelerate skin

renewal and reduce the appearance of fine lines. Researchers have
found that topical retinoid use around the eyes can enhance skin
firmness and elasticity. But you have to use an eye area-specific
retinol or tretinoin cream.
Bakuchiol: this is a gentler plant-based retinol alternative that works
well and is an option for those who have found even the retinol eye
products too harsh.
Vitamin C: An antioxidant that helps lighten dark circles and
promote collagen production.
Peptides: These amino acids help boost collagen and elastin, firming
the skin.
Hyaluronic Acid: A moisture-binding ingredient that hydrates and
plumps the skin.
Topical Caffeine: Known for its ability to constrict blood vessels,
caffeine can reduce puffiness and dark circles.
NIACINAMIDE: AN EYE
SKIN REJUVENATING
POWERHOUSE
Niacinamide, also known as vitamin B3, is a popular skincare ingredient
known for its various benefits for the skin. When it comes to the eye area,
niacinamide can offer several advantages for women looking to care for
their delicate eye skin naturally:

1. Moisturize: Niacinamide helps to improve the skin's barrier function,

which can lead to better moisture retention. This is particularly
important for the thin and delicate skin around the eyes.

2. Reduction of fine lines and wrinkles: Niacinamide has been shown

to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by stimulating
collagen production, which can improve skin elasticity and firmness.

3. Brightening: Niacinamide can help to even out skin tone and reduce
the appearance of dark circles around the eyes, giving the eye area a
brighter and more refreshed look.

4. Anti-inflammatory: Niacinamide has anti-inflammatory properties

that can help reduce puffiness and redness around the eyes, making the
eye area look more rejuvenated.

Topical
Treatments
& Products
Selecting the right products is crucial for eye care.
Products you use on your face may even be too strong.
It’s important therefore to look for gentler, eye-
specific products when they contain harsher
ingredients like vitamin C, retinol/bakuchiol,
and exfoliants.

Gentle face cleansers and moisturizers containing HA (hyaluronic acid)

and niacinamide and mineral-based facial sunscreens are generally safe
for the eyes too.

Of course, when using any product, be sure not to get it into your eyes.

Apply any product by gently tapping the product around your eyes with a
fingertip to avoid pulling the skin.

Look for products like:

Eye Creams and Serums: Opt for ones with the ingredients listed on the
previous pages.

Sunscreen: Choose a mineral-based SPF of at least 30 to protect the

delicate eye area from UV damage.

Eye Masks and Patches: Hydrating and firming masks can provide a
temporary lift to the under-eye area. Teabags work, too!

Lifestyle
& Diet

What you put into your body is as important as what you

put on your skin, perhaps more so. After all, healthy skin
is made in the kitchen, not the lab as the saying goes.

Aim to get more of these in your daily diet:

Antioxidant-Rich Foods: Berries, fruits, nuts, and

green leafy vegetables can help fight free radical
damage that shows up on your face & eye skin.
Omega-3 Fatty Acids: Found in fish, flaxseed, and
walnuts, these fats can strengthen eye skin cell
membranes.
Adequate Protein: Vital for collagen production, good
sources include lean meats, beans & legumes, vegan
protein powders, tofu, and dairy.
A Vegan collagen supplement contains the building
blocks of collagen and can be useful over age 35!
6
Dark
Circles &
Sunken
Eyes
Sunken eyes and dark circles respond well to a few
interventions:

Cold Compress: Apply a chilled eye mask, cold

cucumber slices, cold black tea bags, or a cold spoon
to constrict blood vessels.
The right makeup: Use a peach or yellow-tinted
undereye concealer to counteract blue or purple
tones.
Niacinamide: It’s not just a hydrator. It helps to
brighten dark areas and is safe for under eye use.
SPF! Sun damage can make discoloration worse.
Get enough sleep. 7-8 hours.
Stay hydrated, avoid too much caffeine, and eat dark
green, leafy vegetables like kale.
HOW TO MAKE A
COLD TEA COMPRESS
The caffeine and antioxidants in the teabags can help
heal and de-puff eye skin. Here’s how to do it:

Steep two bags of black or green tea in hot water for 1 minute
as you would normally if you were going to drink the tea.

Then put the wet tea bags in a bowl.

Chill them in the refrigerator for 10 to 20 minutes.

Put a towel under your head in case they drip, or squeeze some
of the water out of the bags first and then apply the tea bags
to closed eyes for 15 to 30 minutes.
7
Puffy
Eyes &
Undereye
Bags
So often, these are caused by inflammation or fluid
retention from the diet. Here are some things that can
help!

Cold Wet Tea Bags: Cooled caffeinated tea bags can

help to tighten the skin.
Gentle Massage: Encourage lymphatic drainage by
lightly rolling index fingers from inner under eye to
outer 3-5 times.
Limit Salt Intake: Reduce puffiness by avoiding
excess salt, which can cause fluid retention.
Avoid too much sugar, alcohol and overly processed
foods, especially at night.
Get checked for food / environment allergies.
Use a cold jade or rose quartz roller gently over eye
area for 30 seconds each side.
Elevate your head: Sleep with an extra pillow to
reduce fluid accumulation under your eyes.
Products or eye mask containing caffeine.
8
Upper
Eyelid &
Eye Area
NOTE: If your eyes are
hooded and they don‘t
respond by lifting when
you open your eyes
wider, you may have
ptosis.
Ask your doctor about it!

Some things that can help with sagging eyelids or

a wrinkled upper eye area include:
Hyaluronic acid serum
Skin barrier protecting creams
Eye de-puffers: caffeine patches or teabags.
Eye-safe retinol, bakuchiol, or prescription tretinoin
Sunscreen SPF 30-50.
Better sleep
Less salt and alcohol in the evening.
Eyelid Exercises: You can work eyelid muscles by
placing your fingertips on your brow bone just
under the eyebrows. Then try and lift your
eyebrows, not from the forehead but from the
muscles where your fingertips are. Do this movement
fast for 20 seconds activity / 10 seconds rest, for up to
8 rounds.
9
Hydration
This one should go
without saying, but over
80% of people don’t
drink enough water or
hydrating beverages /
foods daily.

This will age you faster!

Ways to hydrate your skin inside and out include:

Eating water-based foods: fruits and veggies.

Getting enough healthy dietary fat - an Omega 3/6/9
supplement, avocados and nuts are good sources.
Use an eye moisturizer containing HA (hyaluronic
acid) throughout the day.
Apply a nourishing night cream (I use un-petroleum
jelly by alba) overnight.
Drink enough water, tea, coffee, non-sugary
beverages: Women should drink about 11.5 cups.
Pregnant women should drink 10 cups, while
breastfeeding women should drink 13 cups.
Add electrolyte powder to a glass or two a day.

Your skin will thank you! ❤️
