A. Content Standard: The learner demonstrates understanding of: African

reading styles vis-à-vis purposes of reading; prosodic features that serve as
carriers of meaning, ways by which information may be organized, related, and
delivered orally; and parallel structures and cohesive devices in presenting
information,

B. Performance Standard: The leaner transfers learning by composing and


delivering an informative speech based on a specific topic of interest keeping in
mind the proper and effective use of parallel structures and cohesive devices and
appropriate prosodic features, stance, and behavior.

C. Learning Competencies/Objectives:

 To analyze, interpret, and contextualize literary texts from Asian cultures,


focusing on the thematic significance. EN8RC-la-7.2

The students will identify 10 items True or False about the literary essay "Why
Sinigang?”

G. Practical Applications

Divide students into 7 groups and assign each group a different Asian literary
work to read and have a group sharing based on their understanding in the context.

How does the essay illustrate the significance of how Filipinos love food?
I. Evaluation

Let the students answer the question: What is an informative essay?


J. Assignment

Create an informative essay titled "The Cultural Significance of [Student's Choice


of Dish]" where students discuss the cultural importance of a dish from their own heritage
or a favorite dish.
