Achille Claude Debussy 22 August 1862 – 25 March 1918) was a French composer.

He is
sometimes seen as the first Impressionist composer, although he vigorously rejected the term.
Debussy was born on 22 August 1862 in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, Seine-et-Oise, on the north-west
fringes of Paris.

Joseph Maurice Ravel (7 March 1875 – 28 December 1937) was a French composer, pianist and
conductor. He is often associated with Impressionism along with his elder contemporary Claude
Debussy, although both composers rejected the term. In the 1920s and 1930s Ravel was
internationally regarded as France's greatest living composer.

Antonio Jesús Naguiat Molina (December 26, 1894 – January 29, 1980) was a Filipino composer,
conductor and music administrator. He was named a National Artist of the Philippines for his
services to music. He was also known as the "Claude Debussy" of the Philippines due to his use
of impressionist themes in music.

Impressionism- a style or movement in painting originating in France in the 1860s, characterized by


a concern with depicting the visual impression of the moment, especially in terms of the shifting
effect of light and color.

Oscar-Claude Monet 14 November 1840 – 5 December 1926) was a French painter and founder
of impressionist painting who is seen as a key precursor to modernism, especially in his attempts to
paint nature as he perceived it.

Pierre-Auguste Renoir 25 February 1841 – 3 December 1919) was a French artist who was a
leading painter in the development of the Impressionist style. As a celebrator of beauty and
especially feminine sensuality, it has been said that "Renoir is the final representative of a tradition
which runs directly from Rubens to Watteau.

Juan Luna de San Pedro y Novicio Ancheta October 25, 1857 – December 7, 1899) was a
Filipino painter, sculptor and a political activist of the Philippine Revolution during the late 19th
century. He became one of the first recognized Philippine artists.

Fernando Amorsolo y Cueto (May 30, 1892 – April 24, 1972) was a portraitist and painter of rural
Philippine landscapes. Nicknamed the "Grand Old Man of Philippine Art, he was the first-ever to be
recognized as a National Artist of the Philippines.
