A- R- O Practicum Journal/Log

Activities
On my first day as a student teacher, students in Sirao Integrated School
were scheduled to take their semi-final examination. From 6AM to 11AM,
they need to finish taking 4 subjects in a row.

Reflection
I felt both excited and nervous as this was my first direct interaction
with students. Initially, I was hesitant but on the later part, I was able to
manage the students who were hard-headed and uncooperative. I
learned the importance of clear and authoritative communication to
handle those students who attempted to cheat time to time.

Observatio
n I noticed that students respond anxiously every time I made eye contact
with them and explained the possible consequences if they continue
showing unnecessary motives of cheating. However, some I have
observed how students behave during exam: some are apparently
studying about the test while others are obviously ill-prepared. Also, the
rules set by the class adviser before the exam starts, such as but not
limited to distance seating, no talking, and time constraints was yet not
so effective due to the students’ uncontrollable behavior. I think, it would
be more efficient if the learners were given more strict regulations such
as confiscation of paper if any violated the rules.
