A Brief Explanation of the Guide
We developed this learning module entirely online, with some sessions synchronous and
others asynchronous. All content will be provided on Canvas, including readings, presentations,
activities, homework, teacher instructions, rubric, syllabus, and rules. BigBlueButton is one of
Canvas's features; it is an online meeting platform that will be used for synchronous live
sessions. Furthermore, this unit includes three lessons that will teach students about water bodies,
landforms, and plate movement. Two of the lessons will be asynchronous, which means that the
teacher and students will not interact throughout the educational process, meaning the students
will do the work at their own pace, and one will be held online, or synchronously, meaning there
will be a live session, where the teacher will guide the students throughout the learning process.
This unit has been designed in an environment supporting active learning, creative thinking, and
comparing content to real-life scenarios (such as plate movement). Students will go to Canvas
and do the readings, watch the videos, and submit their assignments during the asynchronous
sessions; everything will be provided along with the necessary directions for what they need to
accomplish in this lesson. We created simple yet diverse activities, including; group work,
individual assignments, research, creating videos and voice recordings, readings, and mind-
mapping.

Lesson Plans
Introduction
The teacher will give students access to Canvas. As soon as they log in to their accounts,
they will be introduced to the Unit through a video made by the teacher. In the video, the
instructor will explain the lessons' process and the navigation on Canvas. Below the video, they
will see all three lessons placed in order. “To start your journey, go below the video, and press
on to lesson 1, where you will learn about “Water bodies' '. Everything is clearly stated including
if the lesson is synchronous or asynchronous.
