Exams Child Safe Collection Policy
Exams Child Safe Collection Policy
Under 18s sitting an exam with us, whether at British Council premises or a hired
venue, are under our care from the time they arrive at the venue until they leave.
We are responsible for ensuring their safety in the same way that we are
responsible for the safety of young learners at our teaching centres.
The centre should have a written policy on the safe collection of children after an
exam. This policy should be shared with parents when they register a child for an
exam. We should ensure that parents have a clear understanding of what our
requirements are and that they are willing to comply with our requirements.
Children or teenagers aged 11-17 years should only be permitted to leave the
premises alone if parental consent to this has been given in writing. This can be a
tick box during registration. Otherwise, they must be collected by the parent or by a
person for whom the parent has provided written authorisation.
The collection of children after an exam should be effectively monitored by test day
personnel.
