WEEK 07 – WRITING TASK:
ASSIGNMENT – PUBLIC
PLACES IN THE CITY!

On the northern coast of Peru lies the town of Mar del Sol, a vibrant and
colourful place where the country's rich cultural history converges with the
natural beauty of its surroundings. At the heart of the city is the main
square, surrounded by colonial and modern buildings that reflect the
architectural diversity of the region.
To the north of the plaza is the Mercado Artesanal, a bustling centre where
local artisans display their pottery, weavings and jewellery, attracting
visitors from far and wide. To the east, on the shores of the Pacific Ocean,
stands the Faro del Sol (Lighthouse of the Sun), an iconic symbol of
orientation for fishermen and a perfect vantage point from which to enjoy
breathtaking sunsets.
To the south of the square stretches the Parque de la Amistad, a green oasis
that offers a tranquil respite from the hustle and bustle of the city. Its
meandering paths lead visitors through lush gardens and recreational
areas, creating a welcoming environment for families and friends.
To the west, bordering the Marañon River, is the Historical Museum, which
houses an impressive collection of pre-Columbian artefacts and interactive
exhibits that tell the fascinating story of the region.
With its diverse attractions and charming atmosphere, Mar del Sol is a
must-see destination for those looking to explore the cultural and natural
wealth of northern Peru.
