Safety is a principle or regulation governing actions, procedures or devices intended to

lower the occurrence or risk of injury, loss and danger to persons, property or the

environment. Below are a few safety rules to follow in a workshop/construction site.

1. No horseplay in the workshop: in the occupational area of furniture making, you should
not have horseplay in the workshop because you can hit a metal or any object that can
injure you or destroy a tool etc.

2. Avoid falling hazards: do not place tools or objects in overhead areas where they can fall
and injure others.

3. Always wear a steel toe when in the workshop: when wearing a steel toe, a nail cannot
injure you and when objects fall on your feet it will not damage your ligaments.

4. Use face shield while using machines: a face shield is essential when welding or cutting
metal because without it, it can injure your eyes and can lead to blindness.

5. Wear a hard hat on a worksite: always wear a hard hat when you are working on a lower
floor level. In that case, any debris or tools that may fall accidentally may minimize the
impact blow to your head.

6. Always keep your work area clean to avoid slips, and trips.

7. Do not climb above twelve feet unless you are wearing a proper harness.

8. When you are in a workshop or on a construction site, become familiar with the nearest
emergency exits to avoid confusion in the event of a fire.
9. Do not handle chemicals without consulting and understanding their material safety data.

10. Always wear heavy duty gloves when cutting metal pipes because the little parts of the
metal can cut your hands and stick in your pores.

The purpose of my company is to provide good quality metal equipment for contractors as well as to

create employment for members of the community. In addition, I will be my own boss and hope to work

to make a profit.

Michael’s Metals is a small business located in Vieux Fort. This organization specializes in creating

materials such as BRC, Steel, Guttering and metal pipes. Machines operators will be working on

technically advanced machines to create different metal materials. Metal Materials will be packed in

organized rows to make it easier for our customers to pick what design they want.

Services

Our workers will listen to your needs and give you what you ask for. We will also help to lay

the metal materials down. We will deliver the metal materials to our customers with a fee of $15

a mile. Our plan is to give out loyalty cards to our loyal customers to make sure that they stick

with us. These days we will be having sales to make sure people come to our company.

And we will also do cost estimating for the client to expand our business. The business will

accommodate Online ordering as well as phone ordering since busy customers appreciate time

saving options like this.

Marketing plans

To promote the business, we will place billboards on the main highways so that people will have
knowledge of the business. Advertisements on the print and electronic media will be done such as
television and radio and the newspapers. Social media will also be used to promote our business. Last but
not least we will have business cards to help promote the business.

Business Operation
Business hours: We will have different shifts for the workers to ensure that we meet the demands of the
market. The workers that are working on the BRC machines will be working from 5:00am to 12:00pm.
And the next set of workers that are working on the Steel Machines from 12:00pm to 9:00pm. The shifts
will be changing off and on from Monday to Saturday as well as on holidays.

Design analysis of a simple manufactured product

Steel toe:

Aesthetic: the steel toe leader and the color is what attracts the customers eyes.

Construction method: Steel toe boots and shoes include an internal toe box made of heavy-duty steel.
It covers the phalange bones of your foot, more commonly known as your toes, protecting them from
harm. From the outside, a piece of steel toe footwear may look the same as any other shoe.

Client requirement: If you're looking for beauty and opulence, this product is developed just for
the customer in every way. It protects your feet from sharp objects and hazards.

Health and safety: People's health is unaffected by it because it doesn't contain any harmful
chemicals. The leather has no harmful fumes evaporating from it. It is a product made from
rubbers and steel.
Color and texture: Brown is the color that was used to style the shoe. This product's surface is
quite smooth, and the and under the steel toe is very rough because of the grip.

Material: This item is made of aluminum steel and rubbers which are used for under the steel
toe. It also has a sponge to support at the back of the hill so that it won't rub and hurt.

Environmental impact: this product can become very harmful to the environment if it is not
disposed of properly. The rubber it possesses doesn't dissolve or go away.
Report of an accident

Mr. James is a carpenter who lives in the community of Black Bay in Vieux Fort. He owns his own

workshop in this community. On June 12th 2021 he managed to hit his hand so hard that he burst his

fingers. I was walking by and suddenly heard a loud screams of pain which caught my attention

immediately. He was in such hurry to complete his task that he rushed to hit the top of the nail with good

power. When I entered the workshop a saw him bleeding and in pain I immediately called 911 for
medical

assistance for him. In the meantime, waiting for the ambulance I assisted him with first aid kit to prevent

bleeding and bandaging his arm. Mr. Brian was brought to the emergency room when we got to the

hospital. He received treatment and was satisfied with the care of the health professionals.
