Gospel Celebration Church (GCC) Welfare Document

NAME
The name of the group shall be G.C.C Welfare Group (hereafter referred to as “the group” in this
constitution.)
GENERAL PROVISIONS
Some of the Fundamental Principles of the Group which are set out here as below:- Religious
affiliation The group shall be operated under the vision of Gospel Celebration Church and
therefore shall abide to the beleifs and teachings of the said church. All meetings must start and
end with a word of prayer.

Autonomy and Independence


The Group shall be autonomous and independent from the church membership and operations. It
shall be for the mutual benefit of the members. Any agreement with the government and other
organizations will be facilitative and is to be done freely, on mutually acceptable terms that
ensure the autonomy of the Group.

Humanity
The Group is born of a desire to help members of the G.C.C to find ways of mitigating the
challenges resulting from hospitalization and , the last respect expense, and some social
commitments of members among others thus hence, uplifting their living standards. It
endeavours in its maximum capacity to alleviate their suffering. Its purpose is to protect life and
health and to ensure freedom from some of the basic insurable controllable risks. It promotes
mutual understanding, friendship, co-operation and lasting peace amongst all members.

Neutrality
In order to enjoy the confidence of all, the Group shall not take sides or engage at any time in
controversies of political nature.

Gender
The group shall be comprised only male members and shall treat all members equally. Not as a
family but individual

OBJECTIVES
(Galatians 6:2, 10)
1. To promote solidarity and mutual cooperation among members.
2. To assist and support members on the following occasions:
(a) Bereavement
(b) Marriage
(c) Serious illness and hospitalization
3. Fund and/or organise other social emanates for members of GCCat least twice ayear(e.g.
screening, health talks, healthy walks etc.).

MEMBERSHIP
Any person who fellowships with the G.C.C church above the age of 18 years is eligible to be a
member of the welfare The interested person shall fill the application for registration form and
submit to the officials of the welfare. Upon acceptance and approval of the registration
application, the member shall pay the required monthly contribution

Admission to membership
Admission to membership shall be done quarterly for ease of administration and determination
of the Group’s net worth at new member’s admission date. An applicant shall be admitted into
membership on being accepted by a majority vote of the Management Committee, but shall not
qualify for rights and privileges of a member until he/she has paid membership admission fee as
determined from time to time by the Group at the Annual General Meeting.Once someone pays
membership fee does s/he will start enjoying the previleges after contributing for 6 months.
On being admitted, the member shall furnish the Group with two recent passport size
photographs and a copy of the national identity card.

Membership number
Upon admission, the leaders of the Group shall cause the name and relevant particulars of the
member to be entered in the register of members. A membership number shall be assigned to
every member for the purpose of identifying his/her account with the Group. Member’s personal
account -On admission, every member shall have a Member’s Personal Account (M.P.A) in
which shall be recorded all deposits and other transactions with the Group. -Every member shall
receive a Member’s Statement which shall contain details as to his/her membership and in which
shall be recorded his/her deposits and other transactions with the Group. The Statement of
Account shall be sent to every member not less frequently than once per annum (every year). -If
such a statement is lost, the Management Committee upon payment of such a fee may authorize
issuance of a duplicate at a fee as it may decide as fair and reasonable.

DUTIES OF OFFICE BEARER


a)Recommend periodic rates of contribution.
b)Ensure all members contribute monthly to the GCC welfare group.
c)Ensure all payments are credited to Account.
d)Reconcile bank statements monthly/quarterly
e)Recommend improvements/amendments to the group
f)Advise on financial health of GCC welfare group to members.
g)Keep two (2) separate registers, one for applications for claims by members, and the other for
approved claims paid to members.
h)Consider applications from GCC members and make recommendations for the approval of the
Trustees.
i)Meet with other departmental heads to discuss issues/areas that should be discussed in
respective departments
j)Analyse and identify the members needs.
k)Annual strategic plan to address members needs and areas of concern.
l)Effective communication to ensure common understanding and expectations will be promoted
and continually reviewed.
m)Listening to members needs and providing unequivocal feedback as to which need can and
which cannot be met.

CONTRIBUTIONS
Every member shall be required to pay a monthly contribution of K.sh 200.00 (two hundred
only) on or before 15thof every month
