2. Principles of teaching based from the principles of learning

Learning Outcomes:  Explain the basics of teaching principles.


 Identify and discuss the different principles underlying teaching and learning.

LEARNING CONTENT

After browsing over what the Teaching Profession is, the fundamental principles in teaching, and the elements
of teaching and learning, we also look into the principles of teaching as postulated by various authors.

Teaching Principles

 Guides to make teaching and learning effective, wholesome and meaningful


 Areas of teaching principles
1. Respect for the individual
- Create a friendly, cooperative and sympathetic learner-teacher relationship
2. Democracy as a way of life
- Help the learners solve problems meaningful to them.
3. Providing suitable condition for development and maintenance of a sound personality
4. Improving group living in the classroom
- Create techniques for group leadership
5. Improving the classroom environment
- Provide a maximum degree of best condition conducive to learning.

LEARNING – active process of modifying behavior through experience or practice.
