PERSONAL ENGINEERING ACTIVITY:

My role and responsibilities were divided into the following stages:

1. Conducting training sessions for customers on their respective machines and
providing demonstrations to new clients.
2. Providing online services through Anydesk and explaining solutions to
queries via Anydesk or TeamViewer.
3. Conducting machine testing in three different phases:
a) Installing the controller (operating software) and programming software
(Aspire).

3
b) Adjusting the operating software settings and ensuring all axis
movements, setting machine limits in all axes, testing all sensors, and
entering calibration parameters.
c) Conducting product sampling to examine finishing quality, cutting speed,
spindle speed, and the absence of homing vibrations.

We have improved the tailstock movement technology in our machine by introducing

a linear guideway based sliding mechanism combined with an effective stopper
system. This advancement allows the tailstock to smoothly and precisely slide in any
situation, making adjustments much easier. Additionally, the new stopper system
ensures that the tailstock can be securely locked at any desired position, providing
stability during operation.
One great advantage of this upgraded system is the inclusion of a scale near the lock.
This scale simplifies the process of setting the tailstock based on the size of the job.
Users can simply refer to the scale to position and lock the tailstock according to the
specific dimensions of the job, eliminating the need for additional measurements or
trial and error adjustments. This improvement saves time and effort, making the
overall operation of the machine more efficient.
To ensure proper alignment between the headstock and tailstock Morse Tapers (MTs),
which are used for holding the job, we send the machine body for precise machining.
This meticulous process guarantees parallel alignment of all machined rails, resulting
in accurate centering between the headstock and tailstock.
These improvements in tailstock movement technology, along with the precise
machining of the machine body, contribute to enhanced functionality, stability, and
efficiency in our machine's operations.

C.E. 3.6.1
MACHINE SETUP :
In addition to my responsibilities, I am entrusted with configuring the parameters for
all axes drives, including X, Y, Z, and Angular movements. This involves setting up
the software controller for machine operation, which includes inputting backups and
customizing screen sets to accommodate the unique features and system changes of
each customized machine. Moreover, I install programming software and post
processors tailored to the machine's specific capabilities. To ensure optimal software
performance, I make necessary adjustments to the computer settings. This meticulous
preparation ensures that the computer panel is fully prepared before proceeding to the
next stage.

C.E. 3.6.2
MACHINE CALIBRATION:
Calibration is a crucial process that involves establishing the relationships between the
tool, origins, and auto tool centers in a machine. In our machine, we have various
features such as auto tool origin, auto tool changing, auto center, auto feeding , tilt
spindle movement for carving, and others. As a machine setup specialist, my role is to
configure these features by entering the appropriate parameters and performing the
calibration procedure.

After the calibration process, it is necessary for me to assess the machining operation
and compare the dimensions of a design on the machine with the specified dimensions
in the design software. To accomplish this, I provide the design to the machine
operators, who load it onto the machine. Subsequently, I examine the impact of
vibrations (if any), humming, and machine acceleration on the final product. Critical
products with maximum and minimum dimensions are tested on the machine to
ensure its proper functionality. This procedure also enables me to identify any
potential issues or accidents that may arise as a result of modifications in the machine
design or errors in the assembly process.

C.E. 3.6.3
CUSTOMER TRAINING AND SUPPORT:
After completing the final quality control of the machine, I direct my colleague to
distribute video tutorials to our clients. These tutorials cover essential aspects such as
fundamental design, programming techniques, and machine operation procedures. The
objective of sharing these tutorials is to equip our clients for their upcoming offline
training session, which takes place at our designated working area. During this
training session, we provide practical, hands-on training to the clients on their specific
machine, ensuring that they attain the necessary knowledge and skill set to operate it
proficiently.
I begin by introducing the fundamental workings of the machine and outlining the
procedures that will be covered during the training session. I proceed to provide
training on computer-aided design (CAD) in software applications such as Aspire and
Powermill. The training focuses on teaching the clients how to generate toolpaths
within their designs and create programs using our company's post processors. This
process involves setting the origin, configuring job settings, and generating toolpaths
for both 2D and 3D models.

5
I proceed to guide the participants through the operation of the machine, providing
them with a thorough understanding of each controller button's significance and how
to utilize them. I demonstrate the process of activating various tools, accurately fitting
the job, and loading G-code. Moreover, I emphasize the importance of verifying the
accuracy of tool coordinates based on the tool's position and how to identify any
discrepancies. In case of any inaccuracies, I guide them to apply "auto tool zero" to
recalibrate the tool's distance with the center axis or origin of the lathe or router
machine bed, ensuring optimal performance.
