Abstract

This study “Social Media and Study Habits of Grade 8

Students in Santa Rosa National High School Soledad, Santa Rosa,

Nueva Ecija” aimed to determine the effects of using social media

on the students’ study habits. It is conducted to help admins and

teachers to have background knowledge of how students behave when

it comes to using various social media and how social media

affects their study habits. The researcher used non-probability

sampling specifically, convenient sampling. The sample size of

this study contains twenty-eight (28) Grade 7 students and sixty-

five (65) Grade 9 students of Caalibangbangan Integrated School.

The researchers used a survey questionnaire with likert scale

type of question. Based on the findings, social media could

affect the study habits of the student in a both positive and

negative manner.There is a strong to moderate relationship

between the hours of using social media and the hours of studying

of the students. Based on the findings, the researchers suggested

the integration of social media on the teaching-learning process.
