Professional Experience – Online in MyBEM Portal

Introduction
• This guideline demonstrates how to input your
professional work experience on the MyBEM
website.

• It's crucial to complete this online process

accurately to apply for the Professional
Competency Examination (PCE).

• Ensure you've registered as a Graduate Engineer in

the system before proceeding.

There are 11 categories that you need to fill in as below.

1. Employment: Enter the name of the organization you

work for.
2. Title of Position: Specify your job title.
3. Location of Training or Experience:
• Mention where you gained your experience or
training.

4. Start and End Date:
• Provide the dates during which you
acquired the experience, ensuring they
are after your registration date.

5. Statement of Training and Experience:

• Describe your roles and responsibilities,
emphasizing the significance and
complexity of your work.

6. Experience Area - General (in months):
• Design/Office
• Site/Field
• Planning/Management
• Other Engineering Works
• Master/Postgraduate
Study/Research/Teaching

7. Experience Area - Professional (in months):

• Design/Office
• Site/Field

8. Professional Engineer Under Whom Served:
• If the PE is from your organization, select them
from the dropdown list and provide their BEM
registration number.
• If the PE is outside your organization, select
"Other" and skip to step 11.

9. Professional Engineer with Personal Knowledge:

• Choose a PE who is familiar with your training
and experience from the dropdown list and
provide their BEM registration number.

10. Save and Notify: Save your entries and inform the
chosen PE to confirm and endorse them on the
MyBEM portal.

11. Repeat the process for each professional experience,

including changes in companies or roles.

Before you are able to submit this online application, you need
to download and fill-up the two forms as below.

These forms will be explained latter in the next section on how

to fill-in step by step.
