Duties of Operating and Maintenance Personnel
 Any person involved in operation and servicing (inspection, maintenance, repair) of this machine
unit in the plant of the user, must have read and understood the complete operating instructions,
especially the safety notices.
 The user is obliged to inform his superior immediately on any occurringunknown or unusual
noises and operating conditions of the machine.
 The operativeness of components for operation and adjustment must not beaffected or
influenced.
 Prior to commencement of any kind of work on the machine, the followinginstructions have to
be observed:
 Do not wear loose clothing!
 Long hair has to be covered by a hairnet!
 Dangling jewelry, rings and other personal objects that may get caught bythe machine have to
be removed!
 Prior to commencement of the repair work, all “Fundamental and Special Safety Measures”
described in chapter “Maintenance” are to be performed.
 Remove safety equipment for maintenance purposes only:
 when all drives and machine parts are out of operation,
 when the main switch is switched off and secured against unauthorizedswitching back on.
 Mounted doors and flaps may be opened after the machine has stopped only. Observe notice signs!

The following is to be observed:
 Do not work in immediate proximity of a roll infeed or moving mechanism with the machine in
operation!
 Make sure that the machine runs at base speed and that a reliable adult person is positioned at
the E-stop button or zone quick stop button. The person at the E-stop button or zone quick stop
button must have been instructed in the operation and the dangers of the machine and must be
within visual and audible range of the person in the danger area! In case of imminent danger,
this person must stop the machine immediately by pressing the E-stop button or zone quick
stop button!
 When lifting loads by lifting devices, the following is to be observed:
 Lifting devices and ropes, hooks and the like must have been tested and approved and be
appropriate for the weight of the load to be lifted.
 Lifting devices and ropes, hooks and the like must not be damaged in anyway.
 Ropes, hooks and the like may be attached in the places indicated in theoperating
instructions only.
 Lifting devices, such as lifting hoists, may be attached to sufficiently stablepoints of the
machine only.
 During operation and maintenance of the machine, the regional safety regulations and the
regulations for the prevention of accidents are to beobserved.
