3. Explain single phase half wave uncontrolled rectifier with RL load for the following cases.
i. Without freewheeling diode
ii. With freewheeling diode
4. Find the efficiency, form factor and ripple factor in case of single-phase half wave uncontrolled
rectifier with R load.
5. Find the efficiency, form factor and ripple factor in case of single-phase full wave uncontrolled
rectifier with R load.
6. Explain single-phase full wave uncontrolled rectifier with RLE load.
7. Compare half wave and full wave three phase uncontrolled rectifier.

21. A single phase fully controlled converter supplies dc voltage of 100 V. The output current may
be assumed constant at 20A. The supply ac voltage is 230V and source inductance per phase is
5mH. Calculate firing angle and overlap angle.
22. A single phase fully controlled converter has a voltage drop of 3V due to the source inductance
which produces a constant load current of 100A, if the delay angle is 30o. A source is is
230V,50Hz. Calculate source inductance and overlapping angle.
