How to process Tobacco

1. Picking: Pick leaves that are a pale-yellow for drying. Tobacco leaves that are too green will dry
green, which you want to avoid.
2. Sorting: Starting from the bottom, remove leaves as they turn yellow every 2 weeks. Sorting the
brownish, yellowish, and greenish leaves.
3. Tieding: Hang the leaves by their stems on a line to dry for 3 weeks. Tie a string to the stems of
the tobacco leaves and hang them to dry.
4. Cutting: start by clamping your Standard Cut Tobacco Shredder onto your table or surface.
5. Drying: Control the humidity as your leaves dry. In cooler periods, open the doors of the barn or
shed during the day to bring in the relatively warmer outside air. In warmer periods, and if your
leaves are drying too fast, close the doors during the daytime hours and open them at night to
bring in the moist night air
