PROGRAM: INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM
I. Program Administration Requirements:
a. Composition – A well – organized and competent staff and faculty shall administer the implementation of these programs and should
meet the requirements set by the commission.
b. A higher education institution (HEI) offering any of these programs shall have a full-time academic administrator for each program. This
administrator can be dean, department head, director, coordinator or equivalent depending on the organizational structure of the HEI.
c. General qualifications of the program administrator – The administrator of these programs must possess the following requirements as
stated below.
II. Faculty Requirements: (Required Resources)

The Information Technology program would like to request at least four (4) faculty members who possess expertise in various areas such as
programming languages, database management, networking, cybersecurity, web development, software engineering principles, and
potentially specific technologies or platforms like cloud computing or mobile app development.
With the following requirements below as set by the CHED CMO No. 25 series of 2015:
a. There should be at least three (3) full time faculty members per program, one of whom could be the dean/ program head/coordinator.
b. At least forty percent (40%) of IT core and processional courses should be taught by full-time IT faculty members. There shall be a
career development and tenure track for the full-time faculty members.
c. For Information Technology Program, at least sixty percent (60%) of IT professional courses should be taught by degree holders in either
IS or IT program. At least thirty percent (30%) of all full-time IS and IT faculty members should have a graduate degree in either CS, IT,
or IT.
d. There shall be faculty members with industry experience within the last two (2) years. These may be full-time or part time faculty
members.
i. Doctor’s degree in CS, IS or IT

ii. Master’s degree in CS, IS or IT plus:
 At least three (3) years of computing work, Computing consultancy, computing research experience, or tertiary level
teaching experience in computing within the last five (5) years.
iii. At least a master’s degree in IS/IT allied programs, Engineering or Mathematics plus:
 Completion of Bachelor’s degree in CS, IS, or IT; or
 Coursework requirements for a master’s degree in CS, IS, or IT;
 At least three (3) years of computing work, Computing consultancy, computing research experience, or tertiary level
teaching experience in computing within the last five (5) years.
iv. A doctorate degree in IS/IT allied programs, Engineering or Mathematics plus:
 At least ten (10) years of computing work, Computing consultancy, computing research experience, or tertiary level
teaching experience in computing within the last twelve (12) years.
e. HEI’s offering CS, IS or IT programs are strongly encouraged to have faculty members with doctorate degrees in CS, IS, IT or allied
fields.
f. HEI’s offering CS, IS or IT programs are strongly encouraged to have faculty members who actively do research and development work
in CS, IS, or IT and who publish regularly in refereed journals and proceedings. Likewise, the faculty members are also encouraged to
join and actively participate in computing related professional organization(s).

software, and diagnostic tools designed to facilitate hands-

systems and related technologies. It serves as a practical
complement to theoretical instruction, allowing students
and researchers to gain practical experience in assembling,
configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting computer
systems.

Programming Laboratory Programming Laboratory is a dedicated space designed to
provide students with hands-on experience in various
aspects of software development, including programming
languages, algorithms, and application development. It
serves as an environment where students can explore,
experiment, and apply theoretical knowledge to practical
projects under the guidance of instructors and in
collaboration with peers.
Multimedia Laboratory A Multimedia Laboratory is a specialized facility equipped
with state-of-the-art technology and software dedicated to
exploring various aspects of multimedia creation,
production, and design. In this dynamic environment,
students engage in hands-on learning experiences to
develop skills in graphic design, video production, audio
editing, animation, and interactive multimedia
development. The laboratory provides access to industry-
standard software tools, high-quality recording and editing
equipment, and multimedia production workstations to
facilitate creative exploration and experimentation.
