B. BLOOD VESSELS
Blood flows around the body through a
network of TUBES called BLOOD VESSELS.
There are three kinds of blood vessels:
1. ARTERIES
2. VEINS
3. CAPILLARIES
Three kinds of blood vessels:
A. ARTERIES:
B. VEINS: These are wide, thin walled
blood vessels. They carry blood BACK
to the heart.
B. VEINS:
C. CAPILLARIES: These are narrow & the
smallest blood vessels and have very thin
walls. Oxygen and carbon dioxide are
exchanged in the lungs; food and waste
products are exchanged in the small
intestines through capillaries.

C. HEART
The heart is a clenched fist-sized organ
that is situated between two lungs. It
acts like a pump and sends blood through
the blood vessels to all parts of the
body.
C. HEART
When the heart relaxes:
Oxygen-rich blood from the lungs
enters the heart through the veins
Blood with less oxygen enters the heart
from the rest of the body through the
veins.
