 Passive Entry Management

When touching inside/outside door handle sensors:
* Theft deterrent mode: searches for smart key outside vehicle via exterior antenna
* Theft deterrent disarmed: Searches for in-vehicle and then searches for smart key outside
vehicle via exterior antenna
The system searches for all smart keys registered to the vehicle. A maximum of 3 smart keys can be registered.
Searching for a smart key is carried out for up to 1.5 seconds.
 Passive Function
1) Passive entry actuation area
- The passive entry actuation area refers to the area where
lock/unlock can be performed by touching the outside door handle
sensor / inside door handle sensor with a smart key carried by
the driver.
- The passive tailgate open actuation area refers to the area where
the tailgate can be opened by pressing the tailgate switch with
a smart key carried by the driver.
- Detection distance: within about 1.0 m from exterior antenna
2) Passive entry actuation area
- Starting the engine by pressing the START/STOP switch with the
shift lever in P or N position and the brake pedal depressed
(START/STOP switch READY: green) after the driver has entered
the vehicle carrying a smart key.
3) Passive LOCK

valid smart key is away at least the given distance
from the vehicle as shown in the picture below,
provided that theft deterrent arming conditions are
fulfilled.

 Smart Key Battery Voltage Low Warning

When the smart key battery voltage goes under 2.7 V after
a press of a smart key button (RF signal) or RF signal input
by detection of a smart key, the SKM sends warning signal
to the instrument cluster through P-CAN for 10 sec. The
warning texts displayed on the instrument cluster vary
depending on the model.

The smart door AUTO LOCK function is not activated in the following situation:
- A valid smart key is detected inside vehicle.
- An impact signal is received from the air bag module.
- Smart key battery voltage low warning.
